Pocket-sized ring sundial made of pewter. Perfect for wearing around your neck. You can actually use it to tell solar and local time, though it takes a bit of skill and practice.
How to tell time with a sundial?
The dial features two holes on the rim marked W for winter and S for summer. The outer side of the ring has three rows:
- The top row shows the day of the month when each zodiac sign begins (based on early 18th-century standards).
- The bottom row lists the months, marked by the first letters of their Latin names.
- The middle row shows the current zodiac sign, which you need to determine the time on the inner side of the ring.
Inside the ring, you'll find two scales for the summer and winter seasons. To tell the time, hold the dial vertically and rotate the ring until a beam of light hits the slanted lines of the hour scale within the corresponding zodiac sign's longitudinal plane. Expect a deviation of several minutes compared to standard clocks. This depends on the season and your geographical distance from the standard time zone meridian.

Well, these clocks are very interesting, but even after carefully studying the instructions, I didn't quite grasp what I'm supposed to do. However, they are exactly what I expected, and once you understand how to tell the time, I highly recommend them.

The clock arrived and I'm really happy with it because it looks great. However, I have to say that you could provide better instructions. I have doubts about its accuracy since I've tried setting it about 100 times and it always shows the wrong afternoon time. Maybe it's defective, or I just don't know how to operate it.
Hodiny mi prisli a som velmi rad, lebo su skutocne pekne. Ale hned musim povedat, ze by ste mohli dat lepsi navod, lebo mam pochybnosti o ich presnosti, kedze som sa snazil uz asi 100x a vzdy mi ukazuju zly poobednajsi cas. Su mozno zle vyrobene, alebo ich iba neviem ovladat.

They make for a nice and unique necklace, and with a bit of practice, you can tell the time within about a 10-minute margin of error. Getting more precise would require more practice and a larger clock face, but that would also increase the price of a product that is currently a steal.
Jako doplněk na krk jsou pěkné a unikátní a po troše cviku se s nimi dá určit čas s odchylkou cca 10 minut. Na přesnější určení by to chtělo větší cvik a větší rozměr hodin, ale to by neslo i větší cenu výrobku, který je teď za hubičku...
I bought a pair. The size of the watch surprised me. It's a great costume accessory, but honestly, it's not easy to tell the time with it, and I admire those who could actually use it.
Koupil sem si jedny. Překvapila mě velikost hodin. Skvělý doplněk ke kostýmu, ale je pravda, že není lehké tím měřit čas a obdivuji ty, co to ovládali.
