Order processing was perfectly fine, thank you, but I still have a comment. They aren't tin, but brass, which disappointed me. They don't look as nice as in the picture. Also, the craftsmanship looks better in the photo than it does in reality. Please sell what you show in your photos. Vyřízení objednávky naprosto v pořádku, děkuji, ale přesto připomínka. Nejsou cínové, ale mosazné, což mne zklamalo. Nevypadají tak hezky jako na obrázku. Také provedení vypadá na fotce lépe, než jaké je ve skutečnosti. Prodávejte prosím to, co nabízíte na fotografiích. Vzhledem k ceně poštovného se mi bohužel nevyplatí hodiny vrátit a chtít zpátky peníze :-( Na karetní hře BANG!, kterou jsem si objednal také naštěstí není co jiného poslat :-D Přesto děkuji a přeji hezké svátky a štastný nový rok. I bought these watches as a costume accessory – they are flawless in that regard. I love the material, color, size, and look; they are really nice. However, the technical execution is a different story. It seems to be a piece-by-piece issue, specifically with the embossing. On the outside, there is one defect overlapping two fields, which I don't mind much. But the inside is poorly done; in one section, neither edge is legible, leaving only the center line. I won't be using these watches for measuring, which is a shame because I was curious to try it out. On the other hand, I bought them for decorative purposes, and they suit that perfectly. So, I'm satisfied.

Hodinky jsem si koupil jako doplněk ke kostýmu - jako takový nemají chybu, vyhovuje mi materiál, barva, velikost i vzhled, jsou moc pěkné. Jiná věc je ovšem technické provedení - zřejmě se bude jednat o problém kus od kusu jiný, a to provedení ražby. Z vnějšku mám jeden kaz překrývající dvě políčka. To by mi moc nevadilo. Ovšem vnitřek se moc nepovedl, v jedné části není čitelný ani jeden z okrajů, zůstal jen středový řádek. Moje hodinky tedy k měření nevyužiji, což je na jednu stranu škoda, protože by mne zajímalo si měření zkusit, na druhou stranu jsem je kupoval za dekorativním účelem, a v tom mi naprosto vyhovují. Takže spokojenost.

A really nice piece. The instructions for measuring time are sufficient. It just takes a bit of practice, and you can estimate the time within a 20-minute margin of error. It depends on the season and the angle of the sun's rays.

Moc pěkná věcička. Návod na měření času je dostačující. Chce to jen trochu cviku a čas se dá odhadnout s odchylkou 20 minut. Záleží na ročním období a tedy na úhlu dopadajících paprsků slunce.

Total satisfaction. For those who haven't figured out how to tell the time yet, let me break it down for you. The outer side is just a table to identify the current zodiac sign throughout the year; if you already know the sign, you can ignore it. Currently, it's Gemini, whose symbol looks like the mathematical PI sign. Since it's daylight saving time, I hang the clock so that light enters through the "S" hole and shines onto the scale opposite the hole. On the scale, there are straight lines ending in zodiac symbols. The Gemini symbol is on the edge of the summer scale. Gently rotate the clock so the light circle shines on this line. Now the clock is set, and you just need to read the time. We do this using the slanted lines that represent the hours. Morning time from 6 (7, 8,...) to 12, and afternoon from 12 (1, 2,...) to 6 PM. For example, if the circle points to the intersection of the current sign's straight line and the slanted line for 9, we read the number 9 from the 6 to 12 scale. If it's afternoon, we read the number 3 from the 12 to 6 scale. Add +1 to the read number, which is likely the offset of our time zone from GMT. And there's your final time, congratulations :) One final example: if the light circle in the morning points exactly halfway between the slanted lines 8 and 9 on the current sign's straight line, it's 8:30 AM.

Uplna spokojnost. Pre tych, ktorym este nejde meranie casu, to skusim viac priblizit. Vonkajsia strana je iba tabulkou na zistenie aktualneho znamenia pocas roka, teda ak viete ake je prave znamenie, nemusite si ju vsimat. Momentalne je znamenie blizencov, ktoreho symbol sa podoba na matematicky znak PI. Kedze je letny cas, zavesim si hodiny tak, aby svetlo do hodin vnikalo cez otvor "S" a svietilo na stupnicu oproti otvoru. Na stupnici sa nachadzaju rovne ciary, na konci ktorych su symboly znameni. Na okraji letnej stupnice je symbol blizencov. Jemne otocim hodinami tak, aby svetelny kruzok svietil na tuto ciaru. Teraz je poloha hodin nastavena, staci uz iba odcitat cas. To urobime pomocou sikmych ciar, ktore symbolizuju cas. Ranny cas od 6 (7, 8,...) do 12 hodin a poobednajsi od 12 (1, 2,...) do 6 vecer. Napriklad ak kruzok ukazuje na priesecnik rovnej ciary aktualneho znamenia so sikmou ciarou 9, odcitame cislo 9 zo stupnice od 6 do 12. Ak je uz popoludni, tak odcitame cislo 3 zo stupnice od 12 do 6. K odcitanemu cislu pripocitame +1, co je pravdepodobne odchylka nasho casoveho pasma od GMT. A mame vysledny cas, gratulujem :) Jeden priklad na zaver: ak svetelny kruzok predpoludnim ukazuje presne na polovicu medzi sikme ciary 8 a 9 na rovnej ciare aktualneho znamenia, je prave pol desiatej predpoludnim.

I got these watches for Christmas and when I saw them, I thought: "Oh my god! These must have cost a fortune...". Then I found them here for six hundred, and I couldn't even believe it... I just don't know how to use them to measure, but that's my fault... THE BEST

PPL delivered these sundials in an envelope this morning. I liked them at first glance. Their interesting look and ideal size are a big plus. Unfortunately, upon closer inspection, the impression is spoiled by poorly molded or cast labels—I'm not sure of the production process :-)—which makes using them a bit tricky. For example, the hole for the sunbeam cuts off about half of a zodiac sign on the inside of the ring when measuring daylight saving time, so I had to guess it from what was left. Fortunately, there aren't more than three such significant defects, and once you get the hang of the measuring process, they won't be an obstacle. These are mostly cosmetic flaws, though they do give the impression that this isn't a 21st-century industrial product. The actual measuring is even trickier. I read the instructions several times, even before delivery, but it's still not exactly simple. I'll definitely be looking for articles online about sundials that might help me understand all the labels and the provided manual. Regardless, I can highly recommend buying them. It's a beautiful "toy" that will delight you and spark your interest in sundials as such.

Dnes ráno mi PPL doručilo v obálce mimo jiné tyto sluneční hodiny. Na první pohled se mi zalíbily. Zajímavý vzhled a ideální velikost jsou velké plus. Bohužel při bližším pohledu dojem pokazí místy špatně vylisované popisky, nebo špatně odlité - neznám výrobní postup :-), což komplikuje práci s nimi. Například otvor pro sluneční paprsek při měření letního času na vnitřní straně prstence ukrojil asi půlku znamení zvěrokruhu, které jsem kvůli tomu musel hádat podle jeho zbytku. Naštěstí takových výrazných vad na hodinách není víc jak tři a po zažití postupu měření určitě nebudou překážkou. Jde spíš o kosmetické vady, které ale navozují dojem, že nejde o výrobek průmyslu 21. století. Horší už je to se samotným měřením. Návod jsem si četl několikrát a také ještě před doručením, ale i tak nejde o zrovna jednoduchou věc. Určitě budu hledat na internetu články o slunečních hodinách, které mi snad trochu pomohou pochopit všechny popisky a zde uvedený návod. Každopádně mohu vřele doporučit koupi. Jde o nádhernou "hračku", která potěší a přiměje člověka k zájmu o sluneční hodiny jako takové.

When my package arrived and I opened it, a large sundial was staring back at me among other things. I didn't expect it to be this big, but it's absolutely awesome! It looks perfect with those runes and inscriptions. The only thing I don't love is the color; it's a matte copper that has a weird shine to it. But the clock is genuinely great.

Keď mi prišla zásielka, a ja som ju otvoril, pozerali sa na mňa okrem iného aj jedny veľké slnečné hodiny. Nečakal som až takúto veľkosť, ale sú strašne super!!! Vyzerajú perfektne, s tými runami a nápismi. Len mi trochu vadí farba, je taká matne medená a tak divne sa leskne. Ale hodiny sú fakticky dobré.

I picked them up at the post office today and I have to say, I'm really pleasantly surprised. I expected them to be smaller, but they're awesome! I'm also really glad they aren't silver! Unfortunately, there's no sun, so I'll have to wait... I'm genuinely happy...

Dneska jsem si je vyzvedla na poště a musím říct, že jsem opravdu mile překvapena. Čekala jsem, že budou menší, ale jsou super! Taky jsem opravdu ráda, že nejsou stříbrné! Bohužel slunce není, tak si budu muset počkat... Mám vážně radost...
