🧙♂️ The Gamebook Legend of Zagor is out
The Legend of Zagor, the 13th installment in the cult Fighting Fantasy gamebook series, has just been released by Mytago. This dark classic by Ian Livingstone returns in a premium hardcover edition with a new cover by Cyril Gaja and original illustrations by Martin McKenna. The story takes you to the kingdom of Amarillia and Castle Argent, where a final showdown with the series' most famous sorcerer awaits, this time in his terrifying demonic form. A major new feature compared to other volumes is the ability to choose one of four unique heroes – Anvar the Barbarian, Braxus the Warrior, Stubble the Dwarf, or Salazar the Wizard – which, along with new magic and awareness mechanics, guarantees high replayability.
🐭 The second volume of the Redwall series is out
Fans have also just received the second volume of the epic animal fantasy saga Redwall, titled Mariel of Redwall. This installment, penned by Brian Jacques, serves as a prequel to the first book and reveals the origin of the legendary Martin the Warrior. The story follows the oppression of the Mossflower Woods inhabitants under the cruel rule of the wild cat Gabool the Wild and the formation of a brave resistance determined to stand against her. Although the main characters are animals, the book offers sophisticated high fantasy with war strategy and heroic deeds. The Czech hardcover edition is complemented by Gary Chalk's illustrations and a precise translation by Zbyněk Kučera Holub, which masterfully brings the world of Redwall to readers of all generations.
🏴☠️ Two new expansions for Pirate Borg are coming
Our editorial team is preparing two expansions for the pirate RPG Pirate Borg. The first is Ravaged by Storms, which casts you onto a desolate island in the middle of endless storms. You’ll face a fight for survival in a hostile environment, dealing not only with the elements but also with new enemies and dark secrets washed ashore by the storm. The expansion brings new locations, content generation tables, and specific survival mechanics for a storm-ravaged world. The second expansion is Dark Tidal, designed as a micro solo RPG that also serves as a source of content for Pirate Borg.
🗡️ We’ve finished the translation of Knave 2
As a fan of minimalist RPG gaming, you have plenty to look forward to, as Mytago has finished the translation of Knave (Second Edition). This rulebook by Ben Milton is now available for pre-order and brings a polished system for OSR (Old-School Essentials) fans. Knave features a classless system where your abilities are determined solely by what you carry in your backpack, and rules you can explain to newcomers in ten minutes. The hardcover second edition also includes rich random tables for adventure generation and is fully compatible with decades of existing D&D modules. While an exact release date hasn't been set, you can secure your copy now.
🏕️ Work on Cairn 2 has begun
In addition to the upcoming Knave, the Mytago workshop has started working on another standout title of the OSR scene – the RPG Cairn (Second Edition). This game, built on principles of minimalism and high lethality, has been expanded in its new version with a comprehensive Player's Guide. Cairn is known for its atmosphere and a system that emphasizes your wits over mere dice rolling. Translation work on this second edition has just kicked off, so you can look forward to another piece that will perfectly complement the family of simple yet deep RPGs in the imago portfolio.
🐉 The Doom of Symbaroum is heading to the finale
Preparation for the epic expansion The Doom of Symbaroum is nearing its end. This massive volume will bring you the dark and dangerous world of Symbaroum fully adapted for the Jeskyně a draci system and 5e rules. You can look forward to specific corruption mechanics, new character archetypes, and an extensive campaign that will lead you through the depths of the Davokar forest. We are currently fine-tuning the title to be ready for all players who want to bring a bit more Nordic darkness into their 5e games.
🐺 We’ve translated A Tome of Chaos for The Witcher RPG
We have great news for you if you’re a fan of Andrzej Sapkowski's world! Mytago has finished the translation of the extensive supplement A Tome of Chaos for The Witcher Role-Playing Game. This manual delves deep into magic in all its spectrums – from sophisticated rules for mages and witchers to dangerous goetia rituals (demon summoning). The book brings you dozens of new spells, rituals, magical items, and a bestiary full of supernatural threats. In addition to game mechanics, you’ll find rich information about the history of magic on the Continent and stories that flesh out the atmosphere of this dark fantasy world.
💍 We’ve translated the Moria book for The One Ring RPG
If you want to explore the darkest depths of Middle-earth, Mytago has prepared a treat for you in the form of the expansion Moria – Through the Doors of Durin for The One Ring RPG. This hardcover manual, translated by Jiří Petrů, serves as a detailed guide to the ancient dwarven city of Khazad-dûm. Don't expect just a dry description of corridors; the book brings new mechanics for dungeon exploration that faithfully simulate the claustrophobic atmosphere and constant danger lurking in the dark. Moria is presented here as a living environment full of forgotten artifacts and powerful factions, where diplomacy can be just as important as a sharp sword. The translation is finished and the title is now available for pre-order, with a specific release date to be announced.
🚗 The first volume of the Freeway Warrior gamebook is being proofread
The Freeway Warrior series, created by Joe Dever, author of the famous Lone Wolf, is getting a Czech release. The first volume of this post-apocalyptic gamebook is currently undergoing proofreading. The story takes place in the USA after a nuclear catastrophe and follows your journey as a survivor from Texas to California. Game mechanics include highway combat and managing limited supplies in the wasteland.
🍳 The D&D cookbook Heroes' Feast is in the editorial office
The official cookbook from the world of Dungeons & Dragons, titled Heroes' Feast, is currently in the editorial phase. This book offers recipes inspired by the D&D multiverse, from elven and dwarven dishes to specialties from famous taverns like the Yawning Portal. The community's high interest is evidenced by the fact that it has already received 800 comments. If you want to enrich your gaming sessions with authentic food, you can look forward to proven recipes that even beginners without magical abilities can prepare.
🪨 The Stones of Chaos gamebook is under final review
The gamebook Stones of Chaos by Jens Schumacher is currently undergoing final review. The story takes you into the dark alleys of Minster, where a carriage carrying rare jewels is ambushed. Your task will be to track down three stolen gemstones, in which powerful demons are imprisoned, before someone uses them to take control of all of Monravia. In this interactive adventure, you will decide your own progress, but you must count on the fact that someone else wants to get their hands on the stones at any cost.
🐙 We’ve released a new Cthulhu gamebook and more are coming
If you’re drawn to the chilling atmosphere of the Cthulhu Mythos, we have a fresh bite for you. We have just released the gamebook The Shadow Over Innsmouth from the popular Choose Cthulhu series. In this interactive adaptation of the classic by H. P. Lovecraft, you take on the role of an investigator heading to the dilapidated port town of Innsmouth, where unimaginable evil lurks beneath the surface. Your decisions will directly influence whether you keep your sanity or succumb to madness. And the good news is that this is just the beginning – we are already preparing more volumes from this series for you in our publishing plan.
