Andrzej Sapkowski is a Polish author best known for his short stories and the seven-part saga featuring Geralt of Rivia, the Witcher. Born in Łódź, Sapkowski’s talent for languages led him to a career in foreign trade after university. He published his first short story in 1986 and became one of Poland's most popular fantasy writers just two years later. Beyond his books, he writes short stories, reviews, commentaries, and columns, primarily for Polish fantasy magazines such as Fantastyka and Magia i miecz.
