Spartacus: A Game of Blood and Treachery (second edition) is a thrilling board game of ruthless backstabbing and bloody gladiator combat. The game is based on the hit STARZ television series.

Players take on the role of the head of a Roman house, or Dominus, in the city of Capua. Each house strives to gain the favor of Rome through intrigue and gladiator matches. As Dominus, you manage your resources: guards protect you from enemy schemes, slaves run your household and earn gold, and gladiators win glory and fame in the sands of the arena.

Spartacus: A Game of Blood & Treachery consists of three phases. First is the Intrigue phase, where players plot against their rivals. In the second, Market phase, you buy, sell, and trade guards, slaves, and gladiators, or bid on new equipment. The final phase features the gladiator matches themselves. These take place as miniature combat in a hex-based arena.

The goal of Spartacus: A Game of Blood & Treachery is to gain the most influence and wealth for your house. Throughout the game, you will bribe, poison, steal, blackmail, and undermine the authority of other houses.

Will you be an honorable citizen of the Roman Empire whose word is law, or will you become a treacherous opportunist who follows the path of least resistance?
