A fully functional, hand-forged historical steel fire striker. Size and shape may vary slightly depending on current stock.

To start a fire, you will need tinder (you can make it by charring cloth: seal natural fabric in a tin and throw it into a fire until it turns black without burning, or use dry grass or wood shavings) and a hard stone, preferably flint.

Starting a fire with a striker requires a bit of skill and patience. Strike the steel against the sharp edge of the flint and direct the sparks into your prepared tinder. Once it starts to smolder, wrap it in sawdust, bark, or dry grass, and you're set—just blow the spark into a flame.
