Wacht am Rhein is a tactical wargame simulating the Battle of the Bulge. This massive game includes 2,380 counters representing every unit that participated in the conflict: Germany, the United States, Great Britain, Canada, and Belgium. The game features 4 historically accurate maps, which the authors compiled using German and American military maps from 1943-1944. They include all roads, railways, towns, and villages that formed the basis of the American defense, as well as various types of terrain, including streams and ravines that were impassable for vehicles.

The individual maps in Wacht am Rhein can be used to play six smaller scenarios. The game also includes an extensive campaign that spans three weeks of game time (50 game turns).
