Messina 1347

The board game Messina 1347 takes place during the time the Sicilian city was struck by the plague (the Black Death). The plague arrived on merchant ships along with luxury goods brought into Europe. Messina was one of the first cities hit.

In Messina 1347, you take on the role of noble families fleeing the city for the countryside to escape the contagion. You strive to save other citizens and help fight the plague within the city walls. At the same time, you must manage your country estate, where you temporarily house the survivors you have rescued.

Everyone waits for the epidemic to subside so they can return to Messina and take control of the city's districts.
