Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion (English)

I'd been planning to buy Gloomhaven for a long time, but I was hesitant because of the price and the potential difficulty. I was thrilled when the prequel, Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, was released, and as soon as imago stocked it, I grabbed it immediately.

The game has a fantastic atmosphere, and I personally love the box art—it just screams adventure! Plus, you don't have to struggle through the rulebook in this version; the introductory campaigns teach you the rules step-by-step as you play. Even in its full form, Gloomhaven isn't the most complex game out there; the mechanics are clear and functional, and hacking your way through enemies is incredibly satisfying. I also have to praise the plastic miniatures—we'll definitely be painting them soon!

Although we're only at the beginning of the campaign, I'm a bit sad that Jaws of the Lion only has 25 scenarios. I'm really going to hate saying goodbye to my character. Maybe we'll replay the campaign with swapped characters later.

For me, this game is the perfect demo version of Gloomhaven that I needed. I have no doubt we'll move on to the original game soon, and maybe even Frosthaven.

Last but not least, I highly recommend everyone check out the Forteller Games website to buy (or at least try) the audio intros and outros for each scenario—it adds so much intensity to the whole experience.

Už delší dobu jsme plánoval koupit Gloomhaven, ale trochu jsme váhali kvůli ceně a případné obtížnosti. Měl jsem velkou radost z vydání prequelu původní hry, Gloomhave: Jaws of the Lion, a když jej naskladnil fantasyobchod, okamžitě jsem po něm sáhl.

Hra má skvělou atmosféru, osobně jsem nadšený i z obrázku na krabici, z nějž číší dobrodrodružství! V této verzi navíc nemusítě složitě načítat pravidla díky úvodním kampaním, v nichž se pravidla krok za krokem naučíte hrou.
Ale ani v plném znění není Gloomhaven nejnáročnější hrou, mechaniky jsou jasné a funkční, a prodírání se nepřáteli uspokojivé. Musím ocenit i plastové figurky, určitě je brzy nabarvíme!

Ač jsme v kampani na začátku, trochu mě mrzí, že má Jaws of the Lion pouhých 25 scénářů, budu se svou postavou loučit opravdu nerad. Možná pak kampaň zopakujeme s prohozenými postavami.

Pro mě je tato hra tou demo verzí Gloomhaven, kterou jsem potřeboval. Nepochybuju o tom, že brzy přejdeme na původní hru, a třeba i na Frosthaven.

V neposlední řadě bych rád všem doporučil na stránkách Forteller Games zakoupit (nebo alespoň vyzkoušet) audio úvodů a závěrů jednotlivých scénářů, dodává to celé zkušenosti na intenzitě.

Perfect for players new to Gloomhaven – it includes tutorial maps that make learning the game mechanics and rules a breeze. Once you've mastered these, you can easily dive into its "big brothers," Gloomhaven and Frosthaven.
I highly recommend using the "Gloomhaven Helper" app on your phone or tablet – it saves table space and speeds up setup and cleanup.
An absolute blast. As a proud owner of the original Gloomhaven, I didn't hesitate for a second and ordered Jaws of the Lion the moment it appeared on the shop.
Compared to the original game (2nd edition), the components are a step up. The character miniatures, for instance, are stunning with sharp, crisp details.
A great investment that will reward you with countless hours of fun.

Vhodné pro hráče kteří s Gloomhavenem nemají zkušenost - obsahuje výukové mapy, které Vám usnadní pochopení herních mechanismů a učí vás jednotlivá pravidla postupě. Pak se můžete snadněji vrhnout na "velké bratříčky" Gloomhaven / Frosthaven.
Moc doporučuji hrát s aplikací na telefonu / tabletu "Gloomhaven Helper" - ušetří místo na stole a urychlí přípravu / úklid hry.
Naprostá pecka. Jakožto hrdý majitel původního Gloomhavenu jsem ani na vteřinu neváhal a Jaws of the Lion jsem objednal ihned jak se na Fantasyobchodu objevil.
Oproti původní hře (2. vydání) jsou komponenty na lepší úrovni. Například figurky postav jsou vysloveně nádherné s ostrými detaily.
Skvělá investice která se Vám odmění hromadou hodin zábavy.
