One of the best games ever – but ONLY for hardcore strategy players willing to spend 3-5 hours per session. The game features highly complex and intricate rules that are often poorly explained, so everyone needs to study them beforehand and have FAQs and cheat sheets on hand. It’s a tough game to get into, but it perfectly captures the epic story of Frank Herbert's Dune. It’s essentially a resurrection of a decades-old game, kept almost entirely unchanged in its mechanics. However, if you have a group to play with regularly, you’ll enjoy every session more and more as you discover possibilities you never knew existed. It’s a game of tactics, negotiation, backstabbing, bribery, and brutal battles.

I recommend playing with 6 people – the fewer players you have, the noticeably worse the experience. Personally, I’d classify this as a 5-6 player game, keeping in mind that 5 players can disrupt the balance that exists with a full group of six.

Pokud však máte skupinu lidí, se kterou si hru zahrajete více krát - každá hra vás bude bavit víc a víc a budete nacházet možnosti, které jste ani netušili, že můžete mít. Je to hra o taktice, domlouvání, podrazech, úplatkách a obtížných bitvách.

Doporučuji hru hrát v 6 lidech - čím míň hráčů, tím je hra ZNATELNĚ horší. Za mě osobně bych hru klasifikoval jako hru pro 5-6 hráčů s tím, že 5 naruší rovnováhu, která ve hře při šesti hráčích je.

A classic strategy game in a new edition. It's great fun with 4 or more players, but less so with three or fewer. It's a blast and the English is easy to follow. Too bad the included insert doesn't fit sleeved cards; you have to cut it.

Starší typ strategické hry v novém vydání. Od 4 hráčů je to super zábava, při třech a méně už tolik ne. Super zábava a angličtina je lehká. Škoda že insert který je ve hře nemá možnost vložit obalené karty, musí se vystřihnout.

The game is quite fast-paced once you learn the rules. The game mechanics didn't really click for me personally, but it was a gift and the recipient enjoyed it. So, I recommend it for Dune fans.

Hra je celkem svižná, jakmile se člověk naučí pravidla. Mechanismus hry mi osobně úplně nesedl, nicméně hra byla dárek a obdarovaný si ji užil. Takže pro fanoušky Duny doporučuji.

A fantastic asymmetric game set in the world of Dune. In my opinion, it's one of the best games on the market, and it's been around for a long time. It's best played with a full group or five players. We play it regularly, and I have to say, every game feels completely different. The combination of asymmetry, a little bit of luck, and politics makes it an absolute gem.

Skvelá asymetrická hra z prostredia dunym Podľa mňa je to jedna z najlepších hier, ktoré sú na trhu a to je tu už strašne dlho. Najlepšie je to hrať v plnom počte alebo v piatich ľuďoch. Hrajeme ju pravidelne a musím povedať, že vždy je tá hra úplne iná. Kombinácia asymetrie, maleh náhody a politiky z nej robí úplny klenot.

According to every review I've seen, Dune is a blast to play as long as you have at least 4 people. That was our stumbling block, as we ordered it during the autumn lockdown when visitors weren't exactly lining up to play. So, we assembled the insert (an excellent addition), tried a practice game with two players, packed everything back into the box, and are now waiting for the chance to play a proper game. Judging purely by the visuals, I really like the production quality—the large, sturdy game board, tokens, and cards. The overall graphics have a retro style (I have no idea if the original 80s version looked the same or if the art was updated), and it fits the game's setting quite well.

Dune je podle všech recenzí, které jsem měl možnost vidět, kotel zábavy, pokud ji hrají alespoň 4 lidé. V tom byl u nás kámen úrazu, protože jsme si ji objednali v době podzimního lockdownu a to se ke hraní návštěvy zrovna nehrnuly. Takže jsme složili insert (vynikající věc), zkusili cvičnou hru ve dvou, naskládali věci do krabice a čekáme, až bude příležitost zahrát si pořádnou hru. Pokud budu posuzovat jenom vizuální stránku věci, tak se mi zpracování moc líbí, velký pevný hrací plán, žetony, karty, celkově je grafika provedená do retro stylu (netuším, jak vypadala původní verze hry z 80. let, jestli byla grafika nějak upravována) a k dějovému zasazení hry mi to docela sedí.
