World of Warcraft: Warriors of Azeroth – An Epic Comic Review

This comic is divided into three parts. Each focuses on a different story from the world of WoW: Warlords of Draenor, Legion, and Battle for Azeroth. The anthology guides readers through these worlds, overwhelming them with a wealth of sensations, ideas, and emotions.

Although the individual stories vary in length, they all share one thing: detailed and breathtaking illustrations. The artists put a lot of work into each story, as evidenced by the sketchbook found at the end of the volume. Every page grips the reader and won't let go until they have experienced the stories. The scenes are full of color and emotion, occasionally punctuated by speech bubbles. Before you know it, you are in the middle of the heat of battle, deep dialogue, and unexpected betrayals that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Warlords of Draenor

The first part of the comic anthology takes us to the home of the orcs – Draenor. Even though it is the shortest section (consisting of three stories), there is no shortage of action. Dialogues full of intrigue and half-truths alternate with raw combat sequences that will give you goosebumps. For those unfamiliar with the lore, it is a fantastic introduction to orcish culture fighting for survival.

Legion

In the second part, we get a glimpse into the period when Azeroth faces attacks from the Legion. In this section, it doesn't matter if you are a villain or a hero. Both groups face difficult decisions. Once again, there is no shortage of combat, intrigue, and betrayal between scenes. At the same time, the reader experiences that creeping sense of futility that permeates the individual stories.

Battle for Azeroth

Battle for Azeroth is much calmer compared to the previous parts. Combat scenes are truly rare here. The individual micro-stories bring us closer to the past of the various warriors. We have the opportunity to relive their ups and downs, which influence the current situation.

All in all, World of Warcraft: Warriors of Azeroth is a piece that no fan of WoW stories should miss in their collection. Each story offers the reader not only action but also a wild ride on an emotional rollercoaster. You will catch your breath more than once at the unexpected twists. The book will lure you to look through it again and again, as you can examine the pages over and over and always discover a new detail you missed before.

Personally, I enjoyed the first "part," Warlords of Draenor, the most.
