Cosplay Guide Part 3 - Working with EVA foam and modeling clay

In the previous parts of our cosplay video series, we covered the basic essentials and how to take proper measurements for your costume. Once again, it proves that preparation is key!

In the third part, we finally dive into the actual crafting. The essential material for cosplay is EVA foam – a magical thermoplastic that is lightweight, easy to cut, sand, heat-shape, and paint. It is incredibly versatile. Still, you need to follow a few basic tips to get the best results.

For this, the girls moved from our "studio" to a secret underground base, where they share a few details on respiratory protection and handle all the messy work you definitely don't want to do at home. You'll surely have a lot of fun with the sanding.

After returning from the dungeon, it's time for costume accessories like beads, various skulls, and ornaments. For this, a modeling clay material is ideal – such as the popular Keraplast, which air-dries and is easy to work with.

In the fourth part, we will look at surface finishes for EVA foam and even touch on some 3D printing.
