In the 19th century, shortly after the Industrial Revolution, railways spread rapidly across the globe. Japan looks toward Western culture, eager to become one of the "Great Nations," and that is when many private railway companies are born in the Land of the Rising Sun—the Golden Age of Railways begins.

In the game Trains, you play as a capitalist managing a private railway, striving to make your company the biggest and the best. Use your equipment, trains, and staff to outpace your opponents and become the king of the rails.
