Tokaido (English version)

Tokaido (English version) is a board game that puts you in the role of a traveler on one of Japan's most magnificent routes – the East Sea Road. Along the way, you will meet various people, collect beautiful items, discover stunning views, visit temples, and explore hidden spots. At the end of the journey, when everyone meets at the finish line, you will find out who the best explorer is – meaning who discovered the most interesting and diverse things.

All actions in Tokaido take place on a linear game board that players move along. The player currently in the last position takes their turn, moving forward and performing their actions. You must decide whether to move slowly to get more turns or rush ahead to claim action spaces before your opponents.

Action spaces offer various activities with different point values. Some allow you to collect money, while others let you exchange money for victory points. Others enable you to trade collected items for more points. Some simply reward you for stopping there, or randomly trigger one of the aforementioned actions.

All actions in Tokaido are very simple and feature unique graphic design. The entire game radiates a calm, Zen atmosphere.
