It can be frustrating at times, but that makes those "aha!" moments when you find the next piece of the puzzle even more satisfying. You can play cooperatively or competitively to see who scores more points.

Downsides? Perhaps just one: once you solve a case, you know the solution, so there is no replayability. But invite your friends over, let them rack their brains, and enjoy watching them struggle ;-)

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective is a board game that pulls you into the London underworld and the intrigues of high society, stretching your deductive skills to the limit.

You play as Holmes's assistants, solving cases the detective himself doesn't have the time or inclination for. Your task is to visit key locations and talk to those you believe can help unravel the mystery. At the end of this cooperative game, you must answer eight questions posed by Holmes.

You get a beautiful map of London and a directory of people, offices, and services found on its streets. For each case, you receive a large casebook containing text for EVERY location, along with the front page of the newspaper for the day of the mystery.
SH is entirely in English and requires a fairly high level of proficiency, but for those who love deduction games and have no trouble with English, SHCD is one of the best games you can get.

V hře představujete Holmesovy pomocníky, kteří řeší případ, na který detektiv sám nemá čas či chuť. Vaším úkolem je podívat se na význačná místa a promluvit si s pokud možno pouze s těmi, kteří podle Vás mohou poodhalit kousek záhady. Na konci této kooperativní hry pak musíte zodpovědět osm otázek, které Vám Holmes položí.

K dispozici máte krásnou mapu Londýna a seznam osob/úřadů a služeb, které se na jeho ulicích objevují.
