Rice Wars is a strategy and economic game where players take on the roles of daimyo, rulers of 16th-century Japanese families, ordered by the Emperor to jointly govern the island of Tokuno near the coast of Kyushu. The best administrator among the daimyo will seize control of Tokuno – such is their ruler's whim.

Your task is to manage your assigned land as effectively as possible. Send peasants to the fields and oversee their work, command your ashigaru soldiers to raid opponents' fields or defend your own. Advisors will eagerly offer their knowledge and experience for a fair price, while a hired ronin can challenge another daimyo to a duel to the death.

The game includes a double-sided board that lets you control the game length – the basic side is for quick games between two to four players, while the epic side allows three to five players to enjoy a longer and more challenging match.
