Polis: Fight for the Hegemony

Polis is a two-player game set in the 5th century BC. Each player represents one of the rival powers—Athens or Sparta. Only one can win by building the more prosperous empire.

As your empire grows, your primary task is to secure enough food for your population. You will gather resources (wood, metal, wine, wheat, olive oil, silver), trade them, and, of course, wage war to gain territory. You will strive to bring other poleis to your side, whether through diplomacy or military force.

Polis is a complex strategy game, and its quality is reflected in its excellent rating on the prestigious BoardGameGeek leaderboard.
