Description
While Napoleon invaded Russia in June 1812, the young republic of the United States declared war on Great Britain on the other side of the world. Mr. Madison's War - That Incredible War of 1812 depicts this largely unpopular conflict between the USA and Canada from 1812 to 1814. The map covers New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, extending to the provinces of Upper and Lower Canada, where most of the battles took place. The game is card-driven (CDG), allowing you to use cards for action points or for the historical events described on them. Counters represent individual battalions and regiments, including militia and Native American units. Ships are also named, including various schooners, brigs, and frigates that participated in battles on the Great Lakes. Among the counters, you will also find prominent commanders from both sides, such as Major General Isaac Brock, Sir George Prevost, Major General Hull, and many others.
The goal of the game is to earn as many victory points as possible, which you achieve by capturing enemy territory. Besides attacking, you must also think about a solid defense to avoid losing your own territory.
The game is in English.
