The Witcher Games

Although Metropolis Software studio began working on the first Witcher game as early as 1996, they failed to complete the project, and the first game was only finished by the Polish studio CD Projekt Red in 2007.

• The Witcher – despite being the studio's first game, it received a positive reception, especially in Europe and North America.
• The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings – the second game from Andrzej Sapkowski's world was also well-received, featuring improvements to the combat system and graphics compared to the first installment.
• The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – the third part of the game saga achieved massive success and earned praise from both fans and critics. It received two expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
• Gwent: The Witcher Card Game – a game that first appeared in the books received its own adaptation in the video game, and its success eventually led to the creation of the online Gwent, which is popular with players worldwide.
• Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales – the latest addition to the Witcher game saga, which combines the Gwent gameplay experience with the campaign of Queen Meve, set before the events of The Witcher games.
• The Witcher 4 – all we know about the fourth Witcher game so far is that it is in development and features a mysterious lynx-shaped medallion in its logo.

The Witcher Series

The world of Geralt of Rivia has already received two series adaptations. The original Polish series Wiedźmin (The Hexer in English) was released in 2002, with Michał Żebrowski starring as the White Wolf. In 2021, the Butcher of Blaviken received another adaptation in the form of the Netflix series The Witcher, with Henry Cavill playing Geralt of Rivia.
