Iron Sky: The Board Game is based on the feature film Iron Sky, a dark sci-fi comedy set in 2018. The Nazis have completed their fleet of flying saucers and space zeppelins and are knocking on Mother Earth's door with one single goal: WORLD DOMINATION! Again…

Iron Sky: The Board Game is a medium-difficulty strategy game. The team playing as the Reich tries to land their invasion army on Earth's surface. The defending team plays as the World Federation and tries to repel the invasion.

The game is purely asymmetrical. The Reich uses a straightforward approach to seize territory for its invasion units, while the Federation players balance two resources: money and political influence. Individual commanders managing their sectors also differ in their unique abilities. For example, the Reich's General der Artillerie is an expert in bombardment, while the Federation politician wields political power with a corresponding supply of funds for defense.

Players strive to do their best for their team. Each player is responsible for their own continent where their army operates. However, helping a neighbor is sometimes essential, and winning without it is impossible. The game lasts from 7 to 10 rounds, and the final score is tallied at the end; the side with the most points wins. The final score depends on the number of controlled territories, inflicted casualties, and the secret missions of individual commanders.
