A well-designed and imaginative game. The price isn't as steep as is usual for FFG. The game board could easily have been a bit smaller. It's quite demanding in terms of both time and difficulty. The main issue I see is that the box content isn't complete—or rather, I believe the Forsaken Lore content was removed from it and is now sold separately. Without the expansion, the game is rather sparse, and there are few individual cards, so they'll start repeating soon. Don't expect a full experience with just the base box. Otherwise, I can recommend it.

Hezky zpracovaná i vymyšlená hra. Cena není až tak moc přestřelená jak je u FFG zvykem. Hrací deska mohla být klidně o něco menší. Časově i obtížností je hra relativně dost náročná. Hlavní problém vidím v tom, že obsah krabice není kompletní - respektive byl z ní podle mě odstraněn obsah Forsaken Lore, který je prodáván zvlášť. Bez rozšíření je hra vcelku chudá a jednotlivých karet je málo = budou se brzy opakovat. Nepočítejte s plnohodnotným zážitkem se základní krabicí. Jinak můžu doporučit.

Eldritch Horror (EH) is effectively a complete overhaul of Arkham Horror from the same publisher (if you don't know AH, skip to the next paragraph). The big question for Arkham fans is whether it's worth getting this game. If you still want to play Arkham, the answer is probably no—you won't have a reason to anymore. For everyone else, the answer is a definite yes. EH is a polished and streamlined version of Arkham, but don't worry, you won't miss out on anything. The atmosphere remains intact, and the game is overall snappier, more fun, and faster, while keeping all the best parts of Arkham.

For those unfamiliar with Arkham Horror: EH is a cooperative game with RPG elements set in the Cthulhu universe. Players take on the roles of investigators who, disturbed by inexplicable phenomena, work together to uncover a plot to awaken one of the Ancient Ones and try to stop it. If you like atmospheric games with RPG elements, I highly recommend EH. There is a lot of text in the game, so if your English isn't at least intermediate, I recommend the Czech version.

Eldritch Horror (dále jen EH) je de facto kompletní předělávka Arkham Horroru od stejného vydavatele (pokud AH neznáte, přeskočte na další odstavec). Zásadní otázka pro příznivce Arkhamu je, jestli má smysl tuto hru pořizovat. Pokud si chcete Arkham ještě někdy zahrát, pak je odpověď pravděpodobně ne, už nebudete mít důvod. Pro všechny ostatní je odpověď rozhodně ano. EH je odladěný a zjednodušený Arkham, ale nebojte se, o nic nepřijdete. Atmosféra je zachována a hra je celkově svižnější, zábavnější a rychlejší, při zachování všech pozitiv Arkhamu.

Pro neznalé Arkham Horroru´- EH je kooperativní hra s prvky RPG s Cthulhu univerza. Hráči se stávají vyšetřovateli, kteří znepokojeni nevysvětlitelnými jevy, společně odhalují plán na probuzení některého z prastarých bohů a snaží se tomu zabránit. Pokud máte rádi atmosférické hry s RPG prvky, pak EH můžu doporučit. Ve hře je hodně textu, takže pokud nevládnete aspoň průměrnou angličtinou, doporučuji českou mutaci.

Production: 100%, beautiful graphics, board, and cards. The narrative snippets on the cards are also great.
Rules: 60%; cooperation is essential and encouraged, which is a plus. The rules are tricky to learn, but easy once you get the hang of them. The sheer amount of game components is just stupid; setting up the game takes ages. There are too many types of cards but in small quantities, so some cycle through too quickly. The game length itself is acceptable (2-3h).
Difficulty: 70%; I can't seem to win solo. The more players, the easier it gets. Generally, it depends on the god and the quests, but it's not an easy game. You can also adjust the difficulty by customizing the Mythos deck.
Verdict: 80%; my group needed a few games to get used to it (our first coop and not an easy one), but in the end, everyone fell in love with EH. The game itself isn't that amazing (70%), but the execution, story, and atmosphere make up for it.

Zpracování:100%, nádherná grafika, plán i karty. Dějové úryvky na kartách jsou také super.
Pravidla: 60%; kooperace ve hře je nezbytná a podporovaná což je dobře. Pravidla se špatně učí, ale po zaběhání jsou snadná. Opravdu debilní je množství herních komponent, postavit hru trvá roky. Karet je až moc druhů ale malý počet, takže se některé cyklí. Délka samotné hry je přijatelná (2-3h).
Obtížnost: 70%; nejde mi vyhrát solo. Čím více lidí tím snáze se to hraje. Obecně záleží na bohovi i úkolech, ale není to snadná hra. Obtížnost jde také ovlivnit skladbou Mythos decku.
Závěr: 80%; moje skupinka si pár her zvykala (první koop a ne snadná), nakonec si EH zamilovali všichni. Hra samotná tak super není (70%) ale provedení, příběh a atmosféra při ní to dohání.

The graphics and component quality are excellent, just as we've come to expect from FFG. The rules are brilliantly written and straightforward. The game is very easy to play but extremely hard to win :) just as every good cooperative game should be. In my opinion, it plays best with 2-4 players. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes Arkham Horror, as this is essentially a heavily improved version with a ton of new mechanics.

Grafika a zpracování komponentů je vynikající jak jsme u FFG zvyklí. Pravidla jsou excelentně napsaná, jednoduchá. Hra je velmi jednoduchá na hraní ale velmi těžká na vyhrání :) tak jak to u každé dobré kooperačky musí být. Dle mého názoru nejlépe hratelné pro 2-4 hráčů. Hru rozhodně doporučuju všem kdo mají rádi Arkham Horror, protože tohle je v podstatě hodně vylepšená verze s hromadou nových mechanik.

The production is top-notch, with beautiful cards, tokens, and a game board—everything is excellently crafted.
The rules have a simple foundation, but they get quite complex due to events, items, and detective abilities. This is definitely a game for people who don't mind putting in some effort; it's certainly not for fans of simple roll-and-move games.
The difficulty is high, and from what I've read, the Forsaken Lore expansion makes it even harder. You basically can't win without strategy, understanding how the game works, cooperation, and a bit of luck with the dice.
Even when you lose, the game creates compelling stories and remains highly engaging. I recommend this purchase to all strategists!

Hra je v angličtině.
Provedení je super, krásné kartičky, žetony, hrací plocha, vše výborně zpracované.
Pravidla hry mají jednoduchý základ, který je ale poměrně dost komplikován událostmi, předměty a vlastnostmi detektivů. Určitě je to hra pro lidi, kterým nevadí se do toho trošku dostat, pro milovníky dostihů a člověče nezlob se to rozhodně není.
Obtížnost hry je vysoká a co jsem četl, rozšířením Forsaken Lore se ještě zvýší. Bez strategie, porozumění jak hra funguje, spolupráce a trochy štěstí při hodech kostkou se to v podstatě nedá vyhrát.
I přes prohry ale hra tvoří zajímavé příběhy a je velmi zajímavá. Nákup všem stratégům doporučuji!
