The Dungeons & Dragons: Essentials Kit is an entry-level set for new players containing everything you need to create characters and play the world-famous Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.
The set supports a DM and a party of 1 to 5 adventurers. Inside the box, you will find a concise rulebook (64 pages) including rules for Fighter, Cleric, Wizard, Rogue, and Bard classes from levels 1 to 6. It also features the Dragon of Icespire Peak adventure written by Chris Perkins.

If you're a total beginner, a starter set is better for you. If you have at least some idea and are willing to use your own imagination, I definitely recommend the Essentials Kit. Besides a subjectively more interesting campaign, it includes many magic item cards, a DM screen (the paper is unfortunately very flimsy, there are much better ones on the market), dice, a Sword Coast map, rules, and blank character sheets.
However, be warned that the DM will have to put in a bit more work to connect the individual dungeons in the campaign, otherwise the plot will feel very thin.
Pokud jste úplný super-nováček, starter set je pro vás lepší. Pokud máte aspoň trochu šajna a ochotu užít vlastní invence, jednoznačně doporučuji Essentials kit. Kromě subjektivně zajímavější kampaně je součástí mnoho kartiček s magickými předměty, Dm screen (papír je bohužel velmi měkký, na trhu jsou mnohem lepší), kostky, mapa Sword coast, pravidla a prázdné character sheety.
Je potřeba však varovat, že DM bude muset trochu více zapracovat na navázání jednotlivých dungeonů v kampani, protože jinak bude zápletka velmi chudá.

Táto krabica je skvelým štartom pre každého človeka, ktorý chce začať s DND, obsahuje všetko čo na hru treba - pravidlá, kocky i sheety pre postavy.
Táto sada pre mňa začala moju DND kariéru, vrelo odporúčam.
A great starter set for D&D. Beautiful red dice, a ton of cards, and a gorgeous DM screen that’s actually useful. The only thing to add is that the adventure is quite sandbox-y, which might be a bit tricky at times. Otherwise, it works perfectly as standalone dungeons and quests for your homebrew campaign, why not :)
Skvělá sada pro začátek dnd. Krásné červené kostky, hromada karet, nádherný DM screen, který umí být i užitečný. Jedíné co dodat je, že dobrodružství je dost sand-boxy a může tak občas trochu pozlobit. Jinak ale skvělé i jako samostatné dungeony a questy do homebrew kampaně, proč ne :)
A great choice for both players and DMs, more comprehensive than the Starter Set. The adventure is more of a sandbox, which I personally prefer, and it levels up characters further than the aforementioned Starter Set.
My players and I really appreciated the sidekick and initiative cards.
Skvělá věc pro začátečníky jak hráče tak DM, obsáhlejší než Starter Set. Dobrodružství je víc sandboxové, což mně osobně vyhovuje, zároveň dovede postavy na vyšší level než zmíněný Starter Set.
Já i moji hráči jsme ocenili karty se sidekicks, iniciativou, atd.
I recommend this for both beginners and experienced players who haven't played this adventure before. I've also used it as inspiration for other campaigns.
Doporučuji jak pro začátečníky, tak pro zkušené hráče, kteří toto dobrodružství dříve nehráli. Použil jsem také jako inspiraci do jiných kampaní.
A great starter set. The campaign itself is interesting, and D&D Beyond offers three free follow-up adventures, which will keep you busy for a good while. Your imagination has no limits, so feel free to adapt the campaign content as you see fit.
Super sada pro začátečníky, kampaň samotná je zajímavá a v rámci DD Beyond jsou k ní celkem 3 navazující zdarma, což vystačí na rozumně dlouhou dobu. Představivosti se meze nekladou, takže i obsah kampaně je možný přizpůsobit.

As a long-time AD&D player from my college days, I'm trying to get back into the game and introduce my kids to it as well.
For starting out in 5E, this product is the perfect bundle. It offers a user-friendly first look and gives you everything you need for your first adventure without having to buy and read through massive rulebooks... though you'll end up buying them anyway, because this is the best entertainment for long winter evenings :-)
Jako dlouholetý hráč AD&D kdysi na "vejšce" se pokouším vrátit k hraní a přivést k tomu i děti.
Pro začátek v 5E je tenhle produkt ideální balíček, který obsahuje uživatelsky přívětivý první pohled na věc a dá vám vše co potřebujete k prvnímu dobrodružství bez nutnosti číst a kupovat obsáhlá pravidla..., která si pak stejně začnete kupovat, bo tohle je nejlepší zábava na dlouhé zimní večery :-)
