The story behind the screen:

Since time immemorial, the city of Al-Quarim was among the largest and wealthiest in the world. Built in the very heart of Krinaj, it became the seat of Emperor Mahúd. Golden temple domes shimmered high above, and massive walls protecting it from sandstorms stretched from horizon to horizon. It was not called the Pearl of the Desert for nothing. For generations, this place was a center of culture, knowledge, and power. Its fame grew constantly, and the entire Krinaj Empire thrived along with it.

However, nothing in the world lasts forever, and Al-Quarim was no exception. No one knows exactly how it began. The books of Kamal Ibn Nasúr speak of celestial signs and tremors that lasted for weeks. Old tales tell of seven oases and dried-up wells, of a secret cult and the slaughter of non-believers. But who knows what is true today?

In some matters, however, the legends rarely agree. They all speak of the city's swift destruction. Of houses and districts swallowed by the earth. Of regiments of soldiers and refugees meeting the same fate. Of the shameful departure of the emperor, who had to abandon the symbol of his empire. And of a hundred-headed monster roaming the sand dunes, hidden somewhere deep beneath the city.

Thus, Al-Quarim remained an abandoned and cursed place in the desert. Dusty memories of it only come alive when one of its treasures appears on the black market.
