A slightly darker black/grey than Basilicanum Grey. It depends on how many layers you apply. The shades range from dark grey to black (see image).

O trochu tmavší černá/šedá než Basilicanum Grey. Záleží kolik vrstev nanesete. Odstíny tak sahají od tmavší šedé až po černou (viz obrázek).

The phenomenon of contrast paints is slightly exaggerated, and the price is higher because it's a new release with heavy marketing support. On the other hand, when applied carefully and correctly, contrast paints can significantly speed up your work. They save time because you don't need to manually shade or highlight edges—the pigment settles primarily in the deeper parts of the model.

The photo shows a comparison of the black paint applied over Ceramite White, Wraithbone, and Mechanicus Standard Grey, though the color would stand out even more on a textured base. The paint has a relatively high pigment density, so it covers well in just one layer. I recommend thinning it slightly with Citadel's Lahmian Medium during application. If you thin this paint with Contrast Medium, you can also create lighter shades of gray.

Fenomén kontrastních barev je mírně přehnaný, cena je vyšší, protože se jedná o novinku, která byla marketingově velmi podporována. Na druhou stranu při správné a pečlivé aplikaci dokáží kontrastky významně ulehčit práci. Jde o to, že šetřím čas = efekt se zasluhuje o to, že nemusím stínovat a zvýrazňovat hrany (pigment se usazuje hlavně v hlubších částech na modelu). Na fotce je možné porovnat černou barvu při aplikaci na Ceramite White, Wraithbone a Mechanicus Standard Grey, ale barva by mnohem více vynikla na texturovaném podkladě. Barva má relativně velké množství pigmentu, takže dobře kryje už v jedné vrstvě. Při aplikaci doporučuji mírně naředit Lahmian médiem od Citadely. Když tuto barvu budu ředit Contrast médiem, mohu vytvořit i světlejší šedivé odstíny.

I tested the paint on an Abominacop miniature from the Zombicide 2nd Edition board game. It was my first time using these contrast (speedpaint) paints, so I often got carried away with how much I applied. Still, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Barvu jsem vyzkoušel na figurce Abominacop ze stolní hry Zombicide 2nd Edition. Bylo to první seznámení s těmito contrast (speedpaint) barvami, takže jsem se mnohdy nechal unést množstvím nanášení. Z výsledku jsem však celkem spokojený.

A highly effective contrast paint from Citadel that reacts with the base coat depending on the thickness of the application, letting the underlying color show through on the edges. The thinner or more diluted the paint (using Citadel Technical: Contrast Medium), the more the base coat shows through. The image shows a thin layer over a yellow base and a thicker layer over a silver base on the skull. Due to its properties, the paint is naturally thin straight from the pot.

Velmi povedená kontrastní barva od citadel, která dle vrstvy nanesení reaguje s podkladovou barvou, kterou nechá vystoupit na hranách. Čím slabší, či zředěnější barva (Citadel Technical: Contrast Medium), tím více původní nátěr vystoupí. Na obrázku slabší vrstva na žlutém podkladu a na lebce silnější vrstva na stříbrném podkladu. Dle své vlastnosti je barva přirozeně řídká už z lahvičky.

When applied to a light surface, light edges remain visible after drying. This makes highlighting easier, or even completely unnecessary when using these contrast paints. Personally, though, I find this paint just a more diluted black at a higher price, so I don't really prefer it.

Při nanesení na světlý povrch jsou po zaschnutí viditelné světlé hrany, takže barva ulehčuje práci při jejich zvýrazňování, které je možné při použití těchto kontrastních barev úplně eliminovat. Osobně mi ale přijde tato barva jen jako více naředěná černá za vyšší cenu, takže ji moc nepreferuji.
