Spicy, romantasy, dark romance: EPOS is looking for new stories

Forbidden desire. A dark prince. Dangerous attraction. And a decision that could change everything.

Do you write fantasy, romantasy, or dark romance that sparks more than a clash between two warring kingdoms? EPOS is launching a contest for authors of spicy literature. Write a gamebook where readers decide who the main character succumbs to, who they leave behind, and what fate they ultimately choose.

The three best stories will receive awards, and the winner will also get 8 hours of professional mentoring from a professional author. 🔥

How to join?

  1. Register in the TalePort editor at https://taleport.epos.games/soutez.
  2. Write your gamebook with a length of at least 15 standard pages.
  3. Publish it no later than December 23, 2026.
  4. Share your story with readers and let them decide which path is the right one. 👀

What is a gamebook?

Imagine a book where turning pages isn't enough. At the end of each scene, the reader decides what the main character does, thereby changing the entire story.

Will they accept the mysterious stranger's invitation? Will they succumb to forbidden attraction? Or will they get involved with someone who might break their heart—or their neck?

Every choice opens a different path. And every one can lead to a completely different ending.

On EPOS, gamebooks come to life right on your mobile. The text is complemented by images, music, and sounds, allowing readers to not just read the story, but experience it. You create your own gamebook in the TalePort editor, where you connect individual scenes and choices. You don't need to do any programming. All you need is your imagination and a story worth living.

Why give a spicy story the power of choice?

In a classic novel, you dictate every decision for your characters. In a gamebook, you can leave part of the fate in the hands of the readers.

Who will they let get closer? Who will they trust? And how far will they go when they get the chance to decide for themselves?

One path might lead to a tender romance, another to forbidden passion, and a third to someone they should avoid at all costs.

Create several romantic arcs, play out dangerous relationships, and offer readers endings they choose themselves. Because sometimes the most exciting part of a story is exactly what happens after the next click.

What can you write about?

There are no limits to your imagination. 🖤

Romantasy: fated bonds, forbidden magic, princes you can't trust, and most importantly, dragons.

Dark romance: dangerous attraction, morally grey characters, and relationships on the edge.

Spicy romance: sparks, temptation, and chemistry that cannot be ignored.

LGBTQ+ romance: forbidden love, fateful encounters, and relationships that break boundaries and rules.

Paranormal romance: vampires, demons, werewolves, and other beings you might not want to resist.

Forbidden love: enemies who attract, secrets that were never meant to come out, and decisions with unexpected consequences.

Or come up with your own genre and world. Fantasy, contemporary romance, and stories on the dark side of passion all have their doors open.

The only rule? The story must be yours, written by a human. At EPOS, authorship belongs to people, not artificial intelligence.

Contest deadlines

Submit your contest story by December 23, 2026.

1st round, reader voting: December 24, 2026, to January 31, 2027

Jury evaluation: February 1 to February 14, 2027

Winner announcement: February 18, 2027

What can you win?

We will reward the three best stories that win over both readers and the jury. The prizes for the contest were provided by our partner, imago.

1st place

  • 8 hours of professional mentoring from a professional author.
  • A personal analysis of your text and advice on how to take your writing to the next level.

And the best part? The story remains yours. At EPOS, you retain 100% of the rights to your work. Your contest story can be your beginning. You can follow up with a sequel, monetize it, and start earning money from your writing.

So, do you dare to put the fate of your characters into the readers' hands?

Write a story where a single choice can spark passion, destroy alliances, or change the entire world.

Your story. Their choices. Infinite possibilities.

👉 Start writing in TalePort and join the EPOS contest.
