Celebrate Star Wars Day with us!

Star Wars has one of the most loyal fan bases in the world. Fans don't just watch the movies; they attend conventions, discuss the lore on internet forums, and love joining official organizations. These groups often act as bridges between fans, creators, and the brand owners. You can join the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, Mando Mercs Costume Club, The Dark Empire, The Droid Builders, or MPCC and show off your gear at conventions or charity events.

However, what unites all Star Wars fans across the world—and indeed the entire galaxy—is Star Wars Day.

Why is the Force with us on May 4th?

Star Wars Day is celebrated every year on May 4th with the motto "May the 4th be with you", a play on the famous Jedi phrase "May the Force be with you". The first known reference to "May the 4th be with you" dates back to May 4, 1979, when Margaret Thatcher was inaugurated as the first female Prime Minister of the UK. The London Evening News published a congratulatory ad from the Conservative Party that read: "May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie. Congratulations."

It took a while for the holiday to be officially recognized by George Lucas and his team, but that changed around 2010. Today, Lucasfilm and Disney actively support and promote Star Wars Day everywhere.

Followers of the dark side also celebrate on May 5th, again due to a linguistic pun. They find that the title of Episode III, *Revenge of the Sith*, sounds similar to Revenge of the 5th.
