How to choose a lightsaber
When choosing a lightsaber, one thing matters most: what you want to use it for. A collector's piece for your display case needs different specs than a training saber. First, check out how these replicas work and what battle-ready actually means. Then, choose based on your playstyle: Basic, Advanced, Premium, kids' sabers, or accessories.
How the replica works
A lightsaber replica isn't a functional weapon, but a toy for cosplay and swordplay training. The hilt is usually made of aluminum alloy, and the blade is made of durable polycarbonate.
The light comes from an RGB LED in the hilt or a more modern Neopixel strip directly inside the blade. Neopixel lights up smoothly along the entire length without visible dark spots. A motion sensor in the hilt tracks your swings and impacts, triggering sound effects ranging from a low hum to a loud clash.
It charges via a USB or USB-C cable. A single charge easily lasts through a full day of action. With more expensive models, you can customize colors and sounds in a mobile app via Bluetooth. With cheaper ones, you toggle both using a button directly on the hilt.
What battle-ready really means
