The wargame 1944: Race to the Rhine tracks the advance of three Allied generals and their armies across France to the Rhine. Will you choose the aggressive American General Patton or the British General Montgomery, who prefers a slower but surer approach? Your army needs fuel to move, ammunition to fight the retreating Germans, and food supplies. Your units must deal with various events, such as building more efficient supply lines or helping starving civilians in liberated French towns.

The winner is the player who crosses the Rhine first and makes the greatest contribution to ending the war.
