Tide of Iron: Next Wave

Before buying this game, I read plenty of reviews—there are many for this tactical combat simulation of German and American forces in WWII. I understood why it’s so highly rated after about my third game. The rules are straightforward, and you can choose the difficulty and complexity by selecting different scenarios. That makes it very easy to learn. You’ll truly appreciate the game's value only after playing a few times and grasping the breadth of possibilities it offers. You can play dozens of games with completely unique setups, which completely eliminates the chance of finding a "best" universal winning strategy. The game forces both "generals" to be flexible, manage resources carefully, and account for weather and terrain. I consider the detailed miniatures (there are a lot of them) a nice bonus that adds to the atmosphere. I think this is the best WWII tactical simulation on our market.

Než jsem hru zakoupil, pročetl jsem si spoustu recenzí, na tuto taktickou simulaci souboje německých a amerických sil za druhé světové války je jich spousta. Proč je hodnocena velmi kladně jsme pochopil po odehrání asi 3. hry. Pravidla jsou zpracována poměrně nekomplikovaně a umožňují zvolit si obtížnost a komplexnost hry volbou herního scénáře. Proto je velmi jednoduché se ji naučit hrát. Skutečnou hodnotu hry člověk ocení až po odehrání několikeré hry a pochopení šíře možností jež hra skýtá. Lze odehrát desítky her s naprosto unikátními nastaveními a naprosto eliminuje možnost nalezení "nejlepší" univerzální strategie pro vítězství ve hře. Hra nutí oba "generály" k flexibilitě a opatrnému nakládání se zdroji, přihlédnutí k vlivu počasí a terénu atd. Detailní zpracování figurek (je jich opravdu hodně) považuji za příjemný bonus dokreslující atmosféru. Myslím, že jde o nejlepší taktickou simulaci z období druhé světové války na našem trhu.
