If you love The Witcher and tabletop RPGs, you have to try this. The authors perfectly captured the lore of the entire universe, and even though it is primarily based on the games (at least in terms of design), book fans will find plenty to enjoy too.
The system isn't complicated. While some mechanics are a bit over-engineered and others feel arguably outdated by today's standards (like the class system), it actually fits the game well since society is archetypally divided in the source material anyway.
The advantage is that you don't have to build a world from scratch. You'll find a basic description right in the book, and you can fill in the rest or rely on your knowledge from the books/games. The English isn't difficult; only some passages written in "Elder Speech" might be a bit tricky, but those are mostly just flavor text and atmosphere. The game mechanics are written clearly.
I have to criticize the paper quality, as I would have expected a higher grammage. You'll be afraid to turn the pages too quickly for fear of tearing them. Even so, it's a great RPG, and I recommend it, especially to Witcher fans.

Pokud máte rádi Zaklínače a k tomu hry na hrdiny, tohle musíte zkusit. Autorům se velmi povedlo vystihnout lore celého universa, a i když vychází primárně (alespoň designově) z her, přijdou si na své i fandové knih.
Systém není složitý, je pravda, že některé věci jsou překombinované, jiné už v dnešní době diskutabilně nemoderní (třeba systém povolání), ale na druhou stranu se to do hry hodí, protože společnost je archetypálně rozdělena už v předloze.
Výhoda je, že nemusíte tvořit žádný svět. Nějaký základní popis najdete přímo v knize, a zbytek si domyslíte nebo budete znát z knih/her. Angličtina není složitá, jen některé pasáže psané "trpasličtinou" dají lehce zabrat, ale jde spíše o komentáře a doplnění atmosféry. Herní věci jsou psány srozumitelně.
Musím vytknout kvalitu papíru, který bych očekával ve větší gramáži. Takhle se budete pomalu bát rychle otáčet stránky, abyste ho nenatrhli. I přesto se jedná o povedené RPG, doporučuji, ale převážně fandům Zaklínače.

This is a true gem for fans of D&D and The Witcher style games. Even if you aren't into role-playing games and just love The Witcher, this is an excellent addition to your collection. Characters, lore, world-building, maps, and monsters. All packed into over 300 pages of top-notch quality and content. I can't wait to play it with my friends. Until then, I'll just enjoy browsing through it.

Tak toto je opravdu klenot pro fanoušky her ve stylu D&D a Zaklínače. I pokud nejste fanoušky her na hrdiny a máte pouze rádi Zaklínače, tak to je vynikající kousek do vaší sbírky. Postavy, informace, svět, mapy, monstra. To vše na více jak 300 stránkách s vynikajícím zpracováním a obsahem. Těším se, až si s přáteli zahrajeme. Do té doby se budu kochat obsahem.

An excellent RPG rulebook that has everything you need for both short sessions and long campaigns in The Witcher world. I highly recommend it to any fan of the game or book series.

Zajímavá hra z charakteristického prostředí, hlavně asi právě pro ty, co se v něm vyžijí. V knize je i poměrně rozsáhlá sekce právě o tomto světě.

A fantastic adaptation of The Witcher. It features plenty of interesting systems and mechanics, packed with information about the world, monsters, and professions. The only downside is that it's a bit more complex compared to other game systems.

Skvelé spracovanie zaklínača. Obsahuje množstvo zaujímavých systémov a mechaník a obsahuje množstvo informácií o svete, monštrách a povolaniach. Jediné mínus je že oproti iným herným systémom je o niečo náročnejšie.
