PHIAL OF GALADRIEL - WETA
"Lady Galadriel bids farewell to the brave Fellowship of the Ring at the borders of her realm and gifts Frodo Baggins a delicate glass phial. Knowing the dangers that await Frodo on his journey, Galadriel assures him that her gift will be a light in dark places when all other lights go out. Bound in silver and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, the phial contains water from Galadriel's fountain, capturing the light of Eärendil, the elves' most beloved star."
A pretty nice life-size piece from Weta. 1/1 scale, made of a glass and polystone combination, dimensions 6.5 cm x 9.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
After filling it with water, tiny bubbles kept forming, and it didn't look as good as it does in the photos when lit up. Eventually, I remembered I had some medical-grade mineral oil left over from the Facehugger (Auriga Project) packaging, which was included with it, and the result is awesome. The light is softly diffused, there are no bubbles, and the liquid remains stable without any side effects like sediment or damage to the rubber seal on the stopper (some people, as I've read, filled it with isopropyl alcohol, which can eventually dissolve the rubber).

You can judge the result in the photos, and I think Weta really nailed this one.

Lahvička svázaná stříbrem a dostatečně malá, aby se vešla do dlaně, obsahuje vodu z Galadrieliny fontány, v níž je zachyceno světlo Eärendila, nejoblíbenější hvězdy elfů."
Docela pěkný life size kousek od Wety. Velikost 1/1, materiál kombinace sklo a polystone, rozměry 6,5 cm x 9,5 cm x 4,5 cm.
Po naplnění vodou se stále dělali drobné bublinky a po nasvícení to nevypadalo tak dobře jak je patrné z fotek. Nakonec jsem si vzpomněl, že mi zůstalo ještě trochu lékařského minerálního oleje v balení od Facehuggera ( Auriga Project ), které jsem tam měl jako jeho součást přibaleno a výsledek je nakonec pecka. Světlo je jemně rozptýlené, žádné bublinky a tekutina je trvalá beze změn a bez vedlejších nežádoucích jevů jako jsou usazeniny a nebo narušení gumového těsnění na zátce ( někteří jak jsem četl to naplnili izopropylenem, který ovšem může časem gumu rozleptat ).

Výsledek můžete zhodnotit na fotkách a myslím, že se to Wetě opravdu povedlo.
