Shadows over Camelot is a grand yet relatively simple cooperative board game.
As knights of the Round Table, you and your fellow players strive to complete quests and gather the military strength needed to face the encroaching evil. Military strength is represented by swords placed on the Round Table. If the table is full and more than half of the swords are white, good triumphs. If the table isn't filled before Camelot falls, or if there are more black swords than white, evil wins.
The fact that the board game is in English doesn't matter much as long as someone can explain the rules to you. The game features beautiful miniatures and remains perfectly playable even if a player has to leave early or someone wants to join mid-game. For those who enjoy intrigue, there is a traitor mechanic, while the rest of us can simply play without one. Although I like to mention a downside at the end, if you enjoy fantasy co-op games, I honestly can't think of any.

Hráči jako jednotlivý rytíři kulatého stolu se snaží plnit úkoly a získat potřebnou vojenskou sílu na blížící se střet se zlem. Vojenská síla se označuje meči, pokládanými na kulatý stůl. Pokud je stůl plný a více než polovina mečů je bílých dobro zvítězilo. Pokud stůl není naplněn dříve než bude kamelot dobyt nebo je na něm více černých mečů než bílých, zlo zvítězilo.
Fakt, že desková hra je v angličtině prakticky nevadí, pokud máte někoho, kdo Vám ji vysvětlí. Hra obsahuje nádherné figurky a téměř netrpí, pokud některý z hráčů musí předčasně odejít nebo se chce někdo přidat. Pro ty, kterým vyhovují intriky je, zde možnost zrádce, pro nás ostatní stačí prostě hrát bez zrádce. Ačkoli rád na závěr uvádím nějaký zápor, tak pokud Vám nevadí fantasy koop hra, tak žádný zápor neznám.

One of the first board games I ever played. I was excited at first, but not so much anymore. The game isn't bad and the traitor mechanic adds a nice touch, but every playthrough feels very similar. Even the Merlin expansion doesn't help much. The upside is the simple rules. It's a big hit with beginners and girls.

Jedna z prvních deskovek, které jsem hrál. Ze začátku jsem byl nadšenej, teď už tolik ne. Hra není špatná a zrádce tomu dává šmrnc, ale průběh jednotlivých her je hodně podobný. Nijak extra nepomůže ani rozšíření Merlin. Výhodou jsou nenáročná pravidla. Hodně baví začátečníky a holky.
