Puerh Shu - Beeng cha, 350g
Description
Puerh tea pressed into a shape known as the "Wedding Cake." In the Yunnan province of southern China, it is a traditional engagement gift—a symbol of family (due to its circular shape) and longevity (the Puerh itself). This tea is processed via accelerated fermentation, where the maturing tea leaves are steamed. (This is a "shou" type Puerh).
Dark brown leaves with a grayish sheen on the surface, producing an infusion famous for its specific, earthy taste and aroma. Perfect for pairing with a hearty meal. You can usually steep this tea 2 to 3 times (let the 2nd and 3rd infusions steep for 3 minutes). We recommend a quick rinse with boiling water before the first infusion.
Origin: Menghai. Vintage 2013 (harvest) - 2014 (pressing).
