Paladins of the West Kingdom is set in the turbulent times of West Francia, around 900 AD. Despite recent efforts to develop the city, the border settlements face constant external threats. Saracens scout the borders, while Vikings raid property and livestock. Even the Byzantines from the distant east give cause for concern.

As noble men and women, you must rally your subjects, defend against enemies, build fortifications, and spread the faith across the land. Fortunately, you are not alone. The wise king has sent his valiant knights to assist you in your efforts. Saddle your horses and sharpen your blades! The Paladins are coming!

The goal of Paladins of the West Kingdom is to earn the most victory points (VP) by the end of the game. You gain points by building outposts and fortifications, commissioning monks, and confronting outsiders. Each round, players enlist the help of a specific paladin and hire workers to perform various tasks. Throughout the game, you will gradually increase your faith, strength, and influence. These attributes not only affect your final score but also determine the impact of your actions. The game ends after the seventh round.
