I've had the game for about a month. I wanted to try something unconventional and original. The combination of a board game with a computer (tablet) app really drew me in. Even though this game isn't exactly the cheapest, I don't regret buying it. The modular board tiles (you build the house room by room based on the scenario chosen in the app) are beautifully and intricately illustrated, and the pile of plastic miniatures looks great too (it'll be even better once I paint them :-) ). Tons of item cards, spells, physical and mental afflictions... What more could you ask for? :-D The game has great pacing and tension. You're dying to know what's behind the next door, what's hidden in the chest on the floor, or in the cabinet wrapped in chains... You dig through piles of documents in studies tucked away in dark corners, face unexpected attacks from strange monsters and creatures, all while eerie sounds, litanies, and incantations drift through the house :-) The app sets the mood well and is easy to control. Once you master the basic mechanics and rules, it flows perfectly... The only unpleasant surprise was that there aren't many playable scenarios in the app yet. But even so, the game is worth it, and hopefully, more scenarios will be added soon...

hru mám cca měsíc.. chtěl jsem vyzkoušet něco netradičního a originálního.. Lákala mě kombinace stolní hry s počítačovou (tabletovou) aplikací.. I když tato hra zrovna nepatří k nejlevnějším nelituji, že jsem si ji koupil. Různě kombinovatelné místnosti hracího pole (postupně si dům skládáte místnost po místnosti na základě zvoleného scénáře v aplikaci) jsou hezky a detailně vykreslené, hromada plastových figurek vypadá také dobře (ještě lepší to bude až si je vybarvím :-) ) Spousta kartiček věcí, kouzel, zdravotních a duševních postižení.. Co víc si přát? :-D Hra má spád i napětí.. Toužíte vědět co se skrývá za dalšími dveřmi, co je ukryto v truhle na podlaze nebo ve skříni omotané a zamčené řetězem... prohrabáváte se kupami dokumentů v pracovnách v zákoutích tmavých místností, čelíte nečekaným útokům podivných monster a bytostí a přitom se domem linou podivné zvuky, litanie a zaříkávání :-) Aplikace hru dobře vykresluje a dobře se ovládá. Po ovládnutí základních mechanizmů a pravidel hry už to pak frčí... Nemile mě akorát překvapilo, že hratelných scénářů v aplikaci zatím moc není.. Ale i tak hra stojí za to a scénářů snad bude přibývat...

Arkham Horror, Eldritch Horror, and Mansions of Madness aren't so much games as they are random event generators, driven by piles of dice rolls and card draws. Mansions of Madness adds an app to the whirlwind of randomness. This playstyle won't suit everyone. You don't win through intellectual prowess so much as lucky dice rolls or picking the right hidden locations early on. However, if you aren't looking for a total brain-burner for the evening, but rather an epic three-hour adventure and a semi-RPG experience, then MM is for you. Every story is different, and every mission will surprise and immerse you with its presentation. You'll explore, investigate, sneak around, and occasionally fight for your life or the fate of the world. The game will frustrate you at times with seemingly unbeatable monsters or your inability to roll the right combination of symbols, but it will immediately grab you again and pull you into an increasingly intense plot. And as your phone/tablet battery drains, so does your time. What happens when the clock strikes seven? Can you afford to waste a precious turn questioning the lord's servant? Or would you rather dig through the blood-stained papers spread across the lord's desk? Either way, an amazing night awaits you.

Arkham Horror, Eldrich Horror I Mansions of Madness nejsou ani tak hrami, jako generátory náhodných událostí, které žene dopředu hromada hodů kostek a taků karet. Mansions of Madness do víru náhodnosti pak přidává aplikaci. Některým tento styl hry nebude vyhovovat. Vyhrát se nedá ani tak skrze intelektuální činnost, jako díky šťastným hodům kostek či štěstí při výběru zpočátku skrytých destinací. Pokud však pro večer nehledáte vyslovený brain-burner, ale epické tříhodinové dobrodružství a semi-RPG, pak MM je zde pro Vás. Každý příběh je jiný, každá mise vás překvapí a pohltí svou presentací. Budete prozkoumávat, vyzvídat, plížit se a občas I bojovat o život či o záchranu světa. Hra vás chvílemi bude frustrovat, zdánlivě neporazitelnými monstry či vaší neschopností hodit správnou konstelaci symbolů, ale ihned Vás zase chytne a vtáhne do čím dál hutnějšího děje. A jak bude baterie z vašeho telefonu/tabletu unikat, bude unikat I váš čas. Co se stane až odbije sedm? Můžete si dovolit plýtvat drahocenný tah na zpovídání pánova sluhy? Či se raději prohrabávat zakrvavenými lejstry rozprostřenými na lordově stole? Ať tak či tak, čeká Vás úžasná noc.
