When I saw these tokens, I knew right away I had to have them. :D I just like them and I'm sure I'll find a use for them eventually - even though I have no clue what for right now. :)

I ordered one of each color right away... go big or go home, right? :)

They are truly beautiful, well-made, with lots of different designs and sizes - the smallest is 1 cm in diameter, the largest is 4 cm - there's only one that big. But given the random selection of designs and sizes, it will be different for every order.

For illustration, I've attached a photo of all the tokens from all four packs (colors) with a ruler at the bottom for scale.

Když jsem ta kolečka uviděl, hned jsem věděl, že je musím mít. :D Prostě se mi líbí a vím jistě, že je časem na něco využiji - i když momentálně nemám ani tušení, k čemu by mi mohly být. :)

Objednal jsem si hned od každé barvy jedny... když už, tak už. :)

Jsou opravdu krásný, pěkně provedený, spousta různých designů a velikostí - nejmenší má průměr 1 cm, největší 4 cm - tak velké je tam jen jedno. Ale vzhledem k náhodnému výběru designů a velikostí to bude u každé objednávky jinak.

Pro názornost přikládám foto všech koleček ze všech čtyř balíčků (barev) a jako měřítko je na dolním okraji přiloženo pravítko.

Steampunk! Gears! Gears'n'Cogwheels!
After unboxing, I realized I was worse off than when I started. Assembling and finishing anything in a steampunk style is a battle against ugliness. Against chaos.
It makes no sense to attach metal to leather without a plan. For now, I have an old leather jacket that needs a color change and a collar adjustment. Buttons, gears, various buckles. Everything needs to be honestly joined into one whole.
...hmmm
...I need more buckles and cogwheels. Should I buy another pack, or take apart broken watches and alarm clocks? (watch out for the springs!)
Really dive into the theme, read Bruce Sterling again, and explore the sub-genres. Browse the net and avoid the clutter. And damn it, watch out for William Gibson; cyberpunk is tempting, but it's full of plastic, silicon, and biotechnology.
We live in cyberpunk now.
Steampunk is a calmer path. Mechanical watches are more human than deranged electronics.
Or maybe not.

Po rozbalení jsem zjistil, že jsem méně než na počátku, problému. Sestavit a dokončit cokoliv, ve stylu steampunk, je boj s nevzhledností. S chaosem.
Nemá smysl připevňovat kov na kůži bez úvahy. Zatím mám starou koženou bundu, která potřebuje změnu barvy a upravit límec. Knoflíky, převodová kolečka, různé sponky. Všechno poctivě spojit do jednoho celku.
...hmmm
...potřebuju další sponky a ozubená kolečka. Koupit další balení, nebo rozebírat rozbité hodinky a budíky? (pozor na pružiny!)
Pořádně se položit do tématiky, přečíst si ještě jednou Bruce Sterlinga a podružné linie témat. Projít net a vyhnout se zbytečnostem. Dát si, sakra pozor na Williama Gibsona, cyberpunk je lákadlo, ale je v něm spousta plastu, křemíku a biotechnologií.
Teď žijeme v cyberpunku.
Steampunk je klidnější cesta. Mechanické hodinky, jsou víc lidské, než pomatená elektronika.
A nebo taky ne.

Our five-year-old son asked Santa for gears. So, he got gears. We haven't really seen him since Christmas Eve—he's been sitting in his room for twenty-four hours straight, building clocks. Every now and then, we just hear shouts of excitement coming from inside.

Extra praise for shipping the goods even during the insane rush two weeks before Christmas.

To give potential buyers a better idea of the product, I've attached a photo with a scale. It shows one pack of each color, so there are four packs in total in the picture.

Náš pětiletý syn si Ježíškovi napsal o ozubená kola. Takže dostal ozubená kola. Už čtyřiadvacet hodin, od Štědrého večera, o něm víceméně nevíme, sedí v pokojíčku a sestavuje orloje. Jen občas se odtamtud ozývají výkřiky nadšení.

Pochvala navíc za zaslání zboží i ve vražedném termínu dva týdny před Vánoci.

Pro lepší představu případným zájemcům o zboží přikládám fotku s měřítkem. Jde o jedno balení od každé barvy, takže na obrázku jsou čtyři balení dohromady.

The tokens are excellent. The craftsmanship is truly detailed, and there's a sufficient number of unique shapes for combining. They were great to work with. :)

Kolečka jsou výborná. Provedení je vskutku detailní a je tam dostatečné množství unikátních tvarů pro kombinování. Skvěle se s nimi pracovalo. :)

It probably won't surprise anyone that the gears don't fit together perfectly, so you can't make a 'train' out of them that would spin by turning just one gear. However, they are solidly crafted and look interesting at first and second glance. Definitely suitable as a decoration, less so as a functional mechanism. :)

Nikoho asi neprekvapi, ze kolieska do seba presne nezapadaju, teda neda sa z nich urobit jeden 'vlacik', ktory by sa tocil pootocenim jedneho kolieska. Su vsak solidne vypracovane a na prvy aj druhy pohlad vyzeraju zaujimavo. Urcite vhodne ako dekoracia, menej uz ako funkcny mechanizmus. :)

Unikátní věc, asi dobrý na cosplay, já to použiju k různejm terénům a modýlkům, co budou dotvářet atmosféru kolem clockwork dragona v DnD. Velikosti různý, podle fotky.

Gears are just awesome. There are so many different sizes and types. I've used them for making jewelry and building post-apo models.

Kolečka jsou prostě super. Je jich spousta různých velikostí a druhů. Použil jsem k výrobě šperků i při stavbě post-apo modelů.

The tokens are exactly what I wanted. I'm planning to make some jewelry out of them. The quality looks good, they aren't heavy, and the color is just right.

Kolečka sú také, aké som chcela. Plánujem z nich spraviť nejaké šperky. Kvalita vyzerá byť dobrá, nie sú ani ťažké, farba akurátna.
