White EVA foam 100 is a higher-density material (100 kg/m³). This makes it easier to cut into your desired shape. It performs better when sanding or using a Dremel. It also features greater resistance to fraying and mechanical damage.

Does color matter? Yes. If you are planning to make a light-colored product (for example, with a metallic effect), it pays to start with a light base. You won't need as much paint to achieve a great result.

Polyethylene foam, known among cosplayers as EVA foam, is a popular material for making cosplay costumes, especially armor and its components. EVA foam is easy to cut with a knife, sand, and glue with contact adhesive.

The edges of the sheet may have minor defects from production and transport. The sheet is always a few cm larger than 1 m.

EVA foam 50 or 100 kg/m³? The higher-density material is easier to work with. It doesn't fray when sanded and provides a more precise, clean cut. For simpler projects, a lower density is sufficient, which is easier to cut with scissors. Denser EVA generally has higher strength and weight.
