Endeavor: Age of Sail

As is typical for Area Control games, it definitely shines more with a higher player count. I haven't tried it with just two players, and I'm not even tempted to. Thanks to the double-sided board, with one side better suited for fewer players, the game remains quite tense even with three. However, I definitely recommend Endeavor for those who have the chance to play with four or five, as the tension rises the moment the map fills up with opponents' tokens and buildings disappear before your eyes.

The base game has great replayability, but the Exploits expansions, which you can add to the game at will, increase it significantly.

I get a similar feeling from Endeavor as I do from Lords of Waterdeep in that the game seems simple at first, but the difficulty increases over time, and by the end, you really have to think your moves through.

After four games, I rate Endeavor: Age of Sail very highly and warmly recommend it.

Jak již to však u Area Control her bývá, tak je určitě výraznější ve vyšším počtu. Nezkoušel jsem ji pouze ve dvou hráčích, ale tato možnost mě ani neláká. Díky tomu, že je deska oboustranná a jedna strana je lépe přizpůsobena pro menší počet hráčů, tak je hra poměrně napínavá i ve třech, ale jednoznačně Endeavor doporučuji pro ty, kteří mají tu možnost hrávat ve čtyřech či pěti hráčích, protože napětí stoupá jakmile se mapa rychle naplňuje žetony protihráčů a budovy vám mizí před očima.

Hra má velmi dobrou znovuhratelnost v základním provedení, ale Exploits doplňky, které můžou být libovolně přidány do hry, znovuhratelnost značně navyšují.

Z Endeavor mám také podobný pocit jako z Lords of Waterdeep v tom směru, že hra na začátku působí jednoduše, ale s postupem času se obtížnost navyšuje a ke konci již musíte své tahy dobře promýšlet.

Po čtyřech hrách hodnotím Endeavor: Age of Sail velmi pozitivně a hru vřele doporučuji.

This is an expanded version of the Seafarers game, and it's fair to say the production quality is much better. If you already own Seafarers, it's worth considering if this version adds enough for you. If you're looking for a top-tier eurogame, you won't go wrong with this one.

Jedná se o rozšířenou verzi hry Mořeplavci a nutno říci, že je produkčně daleko lépe zvládnutá. Pokud už mořeplavce máte, je otázka zda pro vás bude hra přínosná. Pokuk pokukujete po velmi dobré eurohře, tak zde neprohloupíte.
