Honor Among Thieves is definitely not the first attempt to bring Dungeons & Dragons adventures to the silver screen. In 2000, a film simply titled Dungeons & Dragons hit theaters. It was followed in 2005 by the sequel Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God and in 2012 by the third installment, Dungeons & Dragons: The Book of Vile Darkness.
Although planning for Honor Among Thieves began back in 2013, production was delayed by a lengthy legal battle over film rights involving Warner Bros. Pictures, Hasbro, and Universal Pictures. Ultimately, Paramount Pictures took on production, and filming began in 2021 in Iceland and Northern Ireland. The film premiered in March 2023.
The film features a star-studded cast, including Chris Pine as Edgin, Michelle Rodriguez as Holga, Regé-Jean Page as Xenk, and Hugh Grant as Forge Fitzwilliam.
