Príručka zo sveta critical role obsahuje veľké množstvo informácií o svete, jeho obyvateľoch, mágii, monštrách atď. Je to skvelá kniha pre fanúšikov série.

It’s clear from the start that this sourcebook is primarily for Critical Role fans. But even if you look past the cult-like following that has formed around the online D&D show, the world of Exandria (specifically the continent of Wildemount) is a fantastic setting for campaigns with high variability.

Although EGtW is intended primarily for long-term campaigns, you can also use it for short one-shots. I especially like the selection of "adventure hooks"—a collection of plot starters for low-level characters to kick off your campaign. From pirate madness on the Menagerie Coast to chasing a crazy gnome inventor in Hupperdook.

I’m a tabletop fan and an even bigger CR fan, so I’m a bit biased, but I’m still certain that buying EGtW is a great choice.

Je jasné už od začátku, že příručka je hlavně pro fandy CR. Ale, i když se odpoutám od skoro by se dalo říci kultu, který se okolo online DnD show zformoval, svět Exandrie (a konkrétně kontinent Wildemount) je super setting pro kampaně se silnou variabilitou kampaní.

Ačkoliv byl EGtW zamýšlen primárně pro dlouhé kampaně, dá se použít i na krátké one-shoty. Líbí se mi obzvlášť výběr z několika "startovačů" - soubor zápletek pro první levely postav sloužící pro nakopnutí kampaně. Od pirátské šílenosti na Menagerie Coast po nahánění šíleného gnomského vynálezce v Hupperdooku.

Jsem fanda tabletopu a ještě větší fanda CR, takže jsem trochu zaujatý, ale i tak jsem si jist, že koupí EGtW nikdo neprohloupí.

Where to even start? I'm a huge Critical Role fan, and when I heard Matt Mercer was collaborating with WotC, I couldn't wait. I picked up the book, and it lived up to my expectations. It even includes a large map of the entire continent.

Kde jenom začít? Jsem velký fanoušek Critical Role a když jsem se dozvěděl, že Matt Mercer spolupracuje s WotC, nemohl jsem se dočkat. Knížku jsem si pořídil a splnila moje očekávání. Dokonce obsahuje i velkou mapu celého kontinentu.

An amazing book packed with stunning illustrations from Matthew Mercer's world, chronicling the setting of Critical Role's second campaign.

A definite "must-have" for CR fans.
It features a description of Exandria, new wizard subclass adventures, a few new spells, and last but not least, a fold-out map.

In my case, it's a gift for our DM.

As a Critical Role fan, I just had to buy a physical copy. It's a very readable sourcebook featuring beautiful fan art and tons of material for both players and DMs (the Heroic Chronicles chapter is especially interesting, as it simplifies and improves character creation and integration into the world). It also includes a world map.

The map is my only gripe, as you have to tear it out of the book, which I haven't been able to bring myself to do yet.

Jako fanoušek Critical Role jsem si musel fyzickou kopii zakoupit. Jedná se o velmi čtivou příručku, která obsahuje překrásné ilustrace od fanoušků, spoustu materiálu jak pro hráče tak DM (zejména je pak zajímavá kapitola Heroic Chronicles, která zjednodušuje a vylepšuje tvorbu postav a jejich zasazení do světa), součástí je i mapa světa.

Mapa je jediná má výtka, jelikož se musí z knihy vytrhnout, k čemuž jsem se zatím neodhodlal.

As a Critical Role fan, I was interested in this book on principle, but the complete list of races at the end is what finally sold me. Everything is finally in one place, so I don't have to carry two extra books around. As is standard for these books, all the illustrations are beautifully crafted.

Jako milovník Critical role jsem se o tuhle knihu z principu zajímal, ale co mě přimělo si ji koupit byl kompletní seznam ras na konci. Konečně jsou všechny na jednom místě a nemusím nosit o dvě knihy navíc. Všechny obrázky jsou jak je u těchto knih zvykem velmi umně zpracované.

The subclasses for each class are really interesting. The new spells and magical gadgets are once again very useful.
Unfortunately, gender issues are popping up absolutely everywhere now. An NPC who grew up as a woman but felt something was missing sought out a wizard to transform them into a man. I really won't be implementing this into my story. And there's more of this here, unfortunately.

But if you can look past that, the story itself is a worthy addition to the D&D family of sourcebooks.

Subclasses jednotlivých povolání jsou velmi zajímavé. Nová kouzla a nové magické vychytávky jsou opět velmi přínosné.
Bohužel gendrová problematika se nyní objevuje naprosto všude. NPC která vyrostla jako žena, ale cítila, že jí něco chybí, tak vyhledala čaroděje, který ji přeměnil na muže. Toto opravdu do svého příběhu implementovat nebudu. A tady je toho bohužel vícero.

Ale pokud se člověk od toho oprostí tak příběhově se jedná o důstojný přírustek do rodiny D&D příruček.

If you know Critical Role, the world of Exandria and this book, Dungeons & Dragons: Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, won't be anything new to you. You'll find everything you need for your adventure across 304 pages. The icing on the cake is the map of the world, traditionally included at the back of the book. Everything is high-quality, so there's nothing left to do but head out toward new adventures.

Pokud znáte Critical Role, tak pro vás svět Exandrie a tato kniha: Dungeons & Dragons: Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, nebude ničím neznámým. Na 304 stranách najdete vše, co pro své dobrodružství budete potřebovat. Jako pomyslnou třešničkou na dortu je zde mapa světa, tradičně přiložená na konci knihy.
