I mostly use this paint in combination with a "Leadbelcher" base coat to highlight armor edges or create scratch effects on metal objects. I'm just as satisfied with it as I am with the other paints from this brand.

A note for those who own the Dungeons and Dragons: Nolzur's Marvelous Pigments - Adventurers set: Runefang Steel is very similar to the Mithral Silver paint from that set. This can be a great advantage, as you can use it to replace Mithral Silver without having to buy a whole new set.

On the pictured miniature, the armor is painted with Runefang Steel, while the sword is Mithral Silver. The difference between them is minimal, though Mithral Silver is slightly less bright.
