The awl that arrived today is a poor caricature of the tool pictured. The handle is a 1 cm diameter dowel about 8 cm long, with the tip just stuck (crookedly, as you can see in the photo) about 1.3 cm into the handle, so it fell out before I could even blink. I didn't expect miracles for the price, but this is a real disappointment. At least I have a new tip for an older handle I have in my workshop. One star, because unfortunately I can't give zero.
Šídlo, které dnes došlo, je spíše karikaturou na výše vyfocený nástroj. Rukojeť je centimetrová kulatinka v průměru dlouhá asi 8 cm, kde je hrot pouze nasazen (pokud se vám zobrazí fotka, tak nasazen křivě) cca 1,3 cm do rukojeti, takže byl venku dřív, než by jste řekli švec. Nečekal jsem za tu cenu zázraky, ale tohle mě opravdu zklamalo. Mám alespoň nový hrot do starší rukojeti, kterou mám v dílně. Jedna hvězdička, protože žádnou bohužel dát nemohu
It's affordable and does the job. I also appreciate the packaging, which keeps it secure inside the box and prevents any accidental cuts while unpacking.
Není drahé a plní svůj účet. Navíc cením i balení, které zabezpečuje, že se nedostane ven z balíku, ani si s ním člověk neublíží při rozbalování.
The awl met my expectations, but I would recommend something more durable for thicker leather. The metal ring at the end of the handle tends to fall off.
Šídlo splnilo očekávání, na silnější kůži bych ale doporučil něco odolnějšího. Kovový kroužek na konci rukojeti má tendenci odpadávat.
It’s nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. If you want to start working with leather and see if you enjoy it, or just need to make something for fun or necessity, this awl is perfect. With a bit of force, it punches through 5mm leather, and so far, it hasn't dulled, bent, or fallen apart.
Není nijak vyjímečné, ale svou práci plní. Pokud chcete žačít s kůží a vyzkoušet si, jestli vás to bude bavit, nebo si sem tam pro radost či potřebu něco vyrobíte, je tohle šídlo úplně ideální. S trochou síly projede i 5mm kůží, zatím se netupí, neohýbá, nerozpadá se.
