Description
A double-sided amulet featuring horses, the symbols of the Celtic goddess Epona. She was worshipped as the goddess of horse breeders, as well as a deity of abundance and prosperity. The Romans adopted her from the Gauls as Eponae. In the military regions of the Rhine and Danube, commanders of Roman cavalry units invoked her to protect both rider and horse. A similar goddess named Kotys was worshipped in the Czech lands.
The amulet is made of a tin alloy with a layer of antimony and a patina finish. Size: 2.6 cm. The price includes a cord.
