1989: Dawn of Freedom

A board game simulating the end of the Cold War in 1989. Two players relive the intense events of that year, when a wave of democratic revolutions swept through Eastern Europe, ending forty years of communist rule. 1989: Dawn of Freedom simulates the political, social, and economic aspects of these revolutions using cards, much like its predecessor, Twilight Struggle. One player leads the communist bloc and fights to hold their empire together, while the other plays as the democrat, striving to lead the countries toward revolution.
