Jeskyně a draci DM Screen

I appreciate the beautiful artwork on the outside of the screen, as well as its size and sturdiness (the thickness of the cardboard).

However, I cannot praise the execution and the inside of the screen. When opened, very unsightly wrinkles form on the outside. If you happen to get a worse copy, it is very noticeable. Furthermore, horizontal lines are visible everywhere when viewed from the right angle. The internal text is laid out very chaotically, the paragraphs are crammed together, and the color scheme doesn't match at all.

Some information seems redundant to me, while I would have included other details instead. But I guess that is a matter of individual preference for each Game Master. I do appreciate the page numbers indicating where to find specific information. On the other hand, it is a risk, as the pages might shift in future versions of the book. Overall, the inside feels rather amateurish and poorly thought out. For me, it was a close 4 stars until I looked at the Forbidden Lands screen. In that case, you get a beautiful, well-designed product for a much lower price.
In the end, I am giving it only 3 stars. It is also necessary to balance out the five-star ratings, which are quite obviously irrational.

Kladně hodnotím nádhernou kresbu na vnější straně zástěny, její velikost a masivnost (tloušťku kartonu).

Co už ale kladně hodnotit nemohu, je provedení a vnitřní strana zástěny. Na vnější straně se při otevření vytvářejí velmi nevzhledné vrásy. Pokud máte zrovna horší kus, tak je to velmi patrné. Všude se navíc při pohledu ze správného úhlu lesknou vodorovné linie. Vnitřní text je velmi chaoticky rozházen, odstavce jsou těsně na sobě a barevně vůbec neladí.

Některé informace se mi navíc zdají nadbytečné, jiné bych naopak uvedl. To je ale hádám záležitostí individuálního vypravěče. Kladně hodnotím č. stran, kde jednotlivé informace hledat. Na druhou stranu je to risk, protože se strany mohou v budoucích verzích knihy posunout. Celkově působí vnitřní strana spíše amatérsky a nedostatečně promyšlená. Za mne to byly těsně 4 hvězdy, dokud jsem se nepodíval na zástěnu Zapovězených zemí. Za daleko nižší cenu máte v jejich případě krásný designový produkt.
Nakonec tedy dávám jen 3 hvězdy. Je také navíc potřeba balancovat pětihvězdy, které jsou dost zjevně neracionální.

A great tool for GMs, but also for players. I usually play as a player, but I still reach for the screen often because it’s packed with useful tips and references on where to find specific rules. If my English were better, I’d definitely use other screens too, but for now, I’m sticking to the Czech ones. The analysis by Gergon and RPG Forge studio helped me a lot, too.

Bezva pomůcka pro PH / PJ ale i pro hráče. Většinou jsem v roli hráče, ale i tak po zástěně často sáhnu, protože obsahuje spoustu pomůcek a rad, kde například co najdete v pravidlech a podobně. Kdybych více ovládal angličtinu, určitě bych využil i jiné zástěny, takto jsem odkázán na ty české. Dost mi pomohl i rozbor Gergona a RPG Forge studio.

A nice screen that makes running Dungeons & Dragons easier, especially for beginner Dungeon Masters.

Compared to the Dračí hlídka screen, it's significantly shorter (only 21 cm), so it doesn't hide the DM as much.

Pěkná zástěna, která hlavně začínajícímu vypravěči Jeskyně a draků usnadní hru.
Nádherná ilustrace a spousta důležitých informací.
O proti zástěně Dračí hlídky je podstatně nižší (má jen 21 cm), takže tolik vypravěče nezakrývá.

The visual design on the front of the screen is stunning. Otherwise, it's a very useful tool for the Game Master, helping you navigate the rules faster and more easily. Since there is a lot of text on the screen, it might seem a bit cluttered at first. I highly recommend getting familiar with the content before you start using it. The only downside I'd point out is some minor creasing in a few places, especially along the folds.

Vizuální zpracování vnější strany zástěny je nádherné. Jinak je to velmi užitečná pomůcka pro vypravěče, které pomáhá v rychlejší a snazší orientaci v pravidlech. Protože je toho textu na zástěně opravdu dost, může se zdát zprvu nepřehledný. Velmi doporučuji se proto nejprve pořádně seznámit s jeho obsahem, než začnete zástěnu používat. Jediné, co bych vytknul, jsou drobná skrčení na některých místech zástěny, především v přehybech.

In some places, the screen looks a bit sloppy: for example, the text is blurry in one spot or a corner is deformed. However, these flaws don't hinder its use at all.
There is a lot of text here, and it's debatable whether it all needs to be included. Personally, I'm missing a few things, but that can be solved by sticking a piece of paper exactly where I feel something is missing. What I would appreciate most, though, is a user manual; some things might not be clear for hours to slow learners like me, and you can stare at them all you want without figuring out the answer.
Even though this review sounds negative, I am satisfied with the product; it serves its purpose. Just a heads-up for those wanting a Czech 5e screen: be aware that this is a screen for Jeskyně a draci, and the rules aren't 1:1 with D&D.

Na některých místech vypadá zástěna odbytě: jako například text je na jednom místě rozmazaný nebo roh je zdeformovaný. Avšak tyhle nedostatky nijak nebrání jejímu použití.
Textu je zde hodně a je na pováženou, zda by tu všechen musel být a mně zde osobně nějaká věc chybí, avšak to se dá vyřešit prilepeným papírkem, právě na místo, jenž si myslím, že nevyužiji. Co bych ale ocenil nejvíc, je manuál k použití, některé věci lidem s dlouhým vedením jako já nemusí být hodiny jasné a můžou na to zirat jak chtějí, ale odpověď na danou věc nevymyslí.
Přestože recenze zní negativně, jsem s produktem spokojen, plní svou funkci. Jen pozor pro ty, co chtějí českou verzi 5e zástěny, je třeba vědět, že tohle je zástěna pro Jeskyně a draci a pravidla nejsou 1:1 s dnd.

Velmi povedená zástěna, kde je vše jak ma být. Doporučuji

I was hesitant at first about whether this screen was worth the price, especially since I already own a D&D one. In the end, I'm absolutely thrilled and don't regret it at all because it's much better. The material is high quality, and the content is well-written and organized.

Původně jsem váhal, jestli má smysl si pořizovat zástěnu za tuhle cenu, když už mám zástěnu od DD. Nakonec jsem absolutně nadšený a ničeho nelituji, protože je o hodně lepší. Kvalitní materiál a i popisky jsou hezky psané a dělené.

The quality of this screen easily rivals the official DnD one. The cover art is top-notch, and I love that it isn't just a dragon, but a panoramic view of the JaD world. I was also pleasantly surprised by the amount of useful information packed onto the inside. It’s a perfect balance between tips for beginner Dungeon Masters and handy references for the veterans.

Zástěna se úrovní kvality zpracování dá s přehledem srovnat se zástěnou k DnD. Animace na její obálce je špičková a jsem rád, že se neomezila jen na draka, ale je pojatá jako panoramatický pohled na svět JaD. Zároveň mě mile potěšilo množství pomocných informací, které se na vnitřní stranu povedlo dostat. Příjemný kompromis mezi tipy pro začínající Pány Jeskyně a pomůckami pro ty zkušenější.

This 4-panel screen features a stunning illustration. The boards are sturdy and made of high-quality material. The interior includes handy rule references for Jeskyně a draci, complete with page numbers for quick lookups. It’s a fantastic gaming accessory that I highly recommend!

Zástěna složená ze 4 částí je parádně ozdobená nádhernou ilustrací. Desky jsou pevné a z kvalitního materiálu. V poznámkách se nachází nápovědy pro pravidla hry Jeskyně a draci i s číslem stránky z knihy pro více informací. Je to skvělý doplněk ke hrám a mohu jen vřele doporučit :)
