Wild Cards, edited by George R. R. Martin, is a unique mosaic series offering a darker, more realistic take on the world of superheroes and those who will never be considered heroes. When a wild virus struck after World War II, most of the infected died. Some survived and mutated into terrifying creatures called Jokers. Others gained superhuman abilities and became Aces. But being stronger than the rest doesn't mean being better.
