Warhammer 40000: Codex Tyranids

Codex: Tyranids has undergone a major slimming down since the last edition, even though the Tyranids received plenty of new units in the tenth edition (with very few moving to Legends). Unlike the rules, however, this was more of a detriment. It is functional and clear, but I used to buy Codexes for the lore and artwork, and those are now heavily trimmed. Instead, there are extensive rules for Combat Patrol, which could easily have been a PDF download on the GW website. And then there are the Crusade rules, which deserve a book of their own. If you don't buy Codexes just for the rules, subtract one star from the rating.

Codex: Tyranids prodělal od poslední edice zásadní odtučňovací kúru, a to navzdory tomu, že v desáté edici dostali Tyranidé spoustu nových jednotek (a minimum jich odešlo do Legends). Na rozdíl od pravidel mu to však bylo spíš na škodu. Je funkční a přehledný, ale já jsem si Codexy kupoval kvůli backgroundu a obrázkům, a ty jsou teď hodně ořezané. Místo nich jsou tam obšírná pravidla pro Combat Patrol, které klidně mohly být jen ke stažení na stránkách GW jako PDF. A pravidla pro Crusade, které by si zase zasloužily vlastní knihu. Kdo si nekupuje Codexy jen kvůli pravidlům, ať si z hodnocení odečte jednu hvězdu.
