During the summer solstice, the Sioux tribes send their most talented young shamans to the Great Shaman. Each apprentice tries to commune with nature and ask Waka Tanka, the great spirit of all living things, to grant their tribe a totem animal.

The catch is that the Shaman doesn't always remember the right incantation and might summon the wrong spirit—hoping no one notices the mistake. Those whose magic fails to produce the desired effect lose their reputation forever. Some apprentices try to mask their bad luck with all sorts of tricks. But the others are watching…

In Waka Tanka, you need to bluff and outsmart your opponents to win. The winner is the player who gets rid of all their incantation cards or completes two rituals.
