Description

Divination cards filled with mysterious plants inspired by the world's most enigmatic book!

The Voynich Manuscript Oracle by Czech painter Klára Sedlo is a set of 28 cards. Each card features one of Klára's paintings. For several years, Klára has drawn inspiration for her work from the mysterious plants found in the Voynich manuscript.

What is it all about? The 15th-century Voynich manuscript is nicknamed the “world's most mysterious book”. It is written in an unknown script that remains undeciphered to this day. Beyond the cryptic text, it contains equally mysterious drawings of non-existent plants. No one knows their origin, yet the manuscript is full of them. These strange botanical illustrations are the inspiration for Klára's paintings and this oracle deck.

While the original manuscript features simple sketches, Klára transforms them into complex and elaborate oil paintings. On Klára's cards, you will find scenes capturing bizarre plants that levitate, possess various auras, emerge from deep waters, or dance in form.

Each card includes a short affirmation, motto, or reflection, often serving as a metaphor for the plants themselves, their growth, and their appearance – the text is in English.

The meanings of the individual cards are further elaborated in an online guidebook, available in both Czech and English. A QR code linking to the guide is included in the pack.

Each deck is numbered (1st edition, X/500) and signed by the author.

You will find a total of 30 cards in the pack: 28 divination cards, a card with a QR code, and a card with the signature and number of your deck.
