Description

Welcome to the city that inspired William Shakespeare to write Romeo and Juliet, the most famous tragic story of all time, and inspired us to create a board game. You find yourself in the Renaissance, a time when Verona became a major center of trade and culture, but also of corruption and intrigue. The city is so powerful that it has broken free from the rule of the rest of Italy. However, its ruler, Prince Escalus, is a weak monarch, and influential families are seizing control of the city. Who will seize power? The battle begins now.

Verona is a board game that won the fifth annual Creative Contest in 2010, organized by the Czech Board Game Society. Players compete against each other through auctions, predicting planned intrigues, and completing secret and public objectives. The winner is the one who gains both dominance on the game board and economic and military strength. The game is fully localized into Czech.
